Law Enforcement officers aren't just shaped by the job, it follows them home!

Law Enforcement work and training changes the officers think, react, and relate and those patterns don't turn off when they go off-duty. Hypervigialance, emotional numbing, role conditioning, and chronic stress still into home life, and the impact circles back to the job.

The spillover cycle leads to:

  • Higher risk of burnout, absenteeism, PTSD, and suicide.
  • Strained marriages and family stress that officers carry back to work.
  • Increased errors in judgement, safety risks, and liability for departments.
  • Emotional withdrawal and isolation after critical incidents.

Relationships are a protective factor!

Research shows: Officers with a stable, supportive, and connect family relationships experience:

  • Stronger resilience and faster recovery after stress.
  • Improved focus, regulation, and readiness.
  • Lower risk for burnout and crisis-based intervention.

The Hold the Line Solution

Hold the Line Instructor Certification is a 3-day in-person certification program that equips peer-support leaders, wellness teams, clinicians, chaplains, and law enforcement instructors to deliver relationship-based training designed for law enforcement culture.

This program provides departments with a sustainable, in-house training capability, rather than relying on one-time workshops with external vendors

Instructors leave certified and ready to deliver a complete, evidence-informed curriculum tha helps officers and families:

  • Understand how conditioning and training spillover into home life and skills to counter it.
  • Strengthen communication, connection, and emotional regulation.
  • Build skills that support recover, resilience, and job performance,
  • Reinforce family systems as a foundation for officer wellness.

"The lesson materials were able to connect not only with spouses such as myself, but with agents. That was definitely key for me because while understanding what spouses face, we came to realize in depth, the severity and reality of what agents experience-which explains why they are the way they are after taking on such a job within law enforcement. My husband and I feel so connected to the lesson materials and actually have many experiences to share, as well as ideas and activities to incorporate along the way as needed."

USBP Agent Spouse

“We’ve been working with our agency’s families for years trying to help them find skills that will strengthen their relationships, help them understand the root of their difficulties, and give them the support they deserve to have happier families. The Hold the Line program has been an amazing blessing for our families! It fills in the gaps of many of the other trainings we have been providing and really helps people to understand the unique relationship challenges we face as law enforcement families. Thanks to Cyndi for her efforts to share and make a difference!”
