The Center for Nonprofit Leadership (CNL) has been strengthening the nonprofit sector in Nevada County and the Sierra Nevada region since 2003 through education, collaboration, and advocacy. Now a program of the Community Foundation of Nevada County, CNL continues its long-standing mission to help nonprofits thrive, offering best-practice workshops and exchanges, executive coaching, mentoring, and cross-sector partnerships that build capacity and impact. Together, we’re creating a sustainable, connected, and effective nonprofit community that is fully equipped to serve our region’s greatest needs.
Workshops & Education
We offer engaging, expert-led workshops and peer-based learning opportunities that bring local nonprofit leaders together to share insights, tackle challenges, and strengthen their organizations. Through training, networking, and cohort events, CNL fosters a dynamic learning community across Nevada County and the Sierra Nevada region. Workshop themes have included: strategic planning, fund raising, finance, board recruitment and evaluation, building successful boards, board president/executive director relations, planning and conducting effective board meetings, and recruiting and training volunteers. CNL members enjoy a discount on workshops.
