• Why does the College undertake construction projects?

  Construction projects are a vital part of the ongoing development and improvement of the College. These projects bring numerous short- and long-term benefits, such as enhanced facilities and modernized infrastructure, improving the overall campus experience, supporting academic excellence, and promoting sustainability.

• Where does the funding for construction projects come from?

  Funding for Capital Projects comes from the government and is specifically allocated for construction projects to maintain and improve infrastructure. This funding is separate from the provincial funding that supports operational costs, research, and program specific initiatives.

• What disruptions can I expect during a construction project?

  While building improvement projects bring many benefits, they also involve some short-term inconveniences. During construction projects you may experience:

  • Temporary re-routing to alternate entrances and exits,
  • Closure of areas where construction is occurring,
  • Increased noise levels, and
  • Potential localized disruptions to utilities.

  Efforts are made to minimize disruption. However, despite our best efforts some construction-related inconveniences are unavoidable. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work towards enhancing our facilities.  Staying informed through our official updates will help you navigate any changes and ensure a smooth transition during this period.

  Yes, alternate routes are typically provided to ensure safe access to campus buildings. Information on these routes will be posted around campus and online.

• How are accessibility needs addressed during construction?

  Accessibility is a priority. Alternative accessible routes and temporary facilities will be provided to accommodate all students, staff, and visitors.
