With wealth and power, so it's said;
and many saints that after came
received an offer just the same.

I don't think that would tempt me much --
no, I'd be tempted if instead
he offered me a good night's sleep;
some kind of peace inside this head;
and, maybe, someone to hold
to chase away the lonely cold.
