There are growing expectations for offshore wind power generation globally as a source of clean energy. Japan has significant potential for offshore wind, which can play an important role in tackling climate change, providing a stable energy source, and developing an industry. 

While the public and private sectors in Japan are working to expand offshore wind, the country\u2019s current installed capacity is small compared with that of China and some European countries that are actively promoting offshore wind. The development of offshore wind in Japan has just begun in earnest.

This report summarizes the state of offshore wind in Japan and abroad, as well as policies, measures and challenges for future expansion in Japan. It also offers proposals for further deployment of offshore wind power generation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
