Q:\u00a0 <\/span>Why do classical Christian schools have traditional folk dances instead of\u00a0 modern proms?<\/div>\n
A:\u00a0 <\/span>The spirit of modern school dances\u2014the sort that would take place, for example, at most proms\u2014is a manifestation of the confusion and expressive individualism sweeping across our society. These dances tend to worship self-defined inner authenticity and praise emotionally driven spontaneity.<\/div>\n

Our dances, on the other hand, intentionally run against this grain. Students join something bigger and more beautiful than they could create by themselves: they walk in a design. Everyone participates, everyone has a role to play, everyone can belong in a community built of structure, harmony, and intention.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We want every student to know who they are and how God designed them. What\u2019s significant about this type of education is that it goes beyond the theoretical. It socially embodies the good differences that God built into His creation between men and women. This doesn\u2019t just occur in thought; it’s socially embodied, it\u2019s experienced, it’s theology lived.<\/p>\n

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them …. And God saw everything that he made, and behold, it was very good” (Gen. 1.27, 31a, ESV).<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
