Thought-provoking writing about what's it's like to be a woman of Ireland from social scientist (& friend) Belinda Vigors.
Caregivers are among the most under-served communities in our world. Ryan’s work centres those who care for others (be they parents, educators or those undertaking other forms of paid or unpaid care). In Tending is a community designed to help caregivers to “break free of burnout and to live happier, healthier, more liberated lives.” If you’re looking for increased clarity, space to tend to your inner life and to meet other caregivers who really get it, I can’t recommend Ryan’s work enough.
Intimate essays and reflections on sobriety, being and becoming from Dana Leigh Lyons. Dana's writing always makes me think a little differently and exhale a little more deeply.
Erin’s writing never fails to make me smile, think and feel things more deeply. In a world of fear and numbness, the FREQUENT CRIERS CLUB helps me feel more alive. (P.S, she’s also an amazing newsletter strategist. Hire her, if you can!)
I got to know Amy and her work when she took part in The Artist’s Way, a community exploration of creativity through the lens of trauma recovery. She writes Living in 3D, a safe space for honest conversation about how we can embrace desire in every decade. Her work is honest, heartfelt and deeply true. I really recommend it!
I love Albe’s work! They write about “the space where despair and joy coexist”. Their work is funny, moving and often breathtakingly original. Check it out!!
Thought provoking conversations about sobriety and what it means to live a sober life
Thoughtful essays about memory, place, care, loss and attention. I've been reading Roxani's work for more than a decade and find it consistently moving and thought-provoking. Highly recommend.
SmallStack is passionate about finding the quiet folks whose work deserves attention. It can be tough being a new creator competing in this cacophonous space, but SmallStack aims to build community among smaller creators and highlight work that deserves to be read.
Wise and practical advice on editing, publishing and the writing process. I love how Amanda balances data with storytelling, and feel like I learn something from every post.
Tender at the Desk and Stove by Laura Khoudari is a thoughtful monthly dispatch featuring a mix of personal essays, delicious recipes, interviews, and media recommendations all intended to nourish the body, mind, and spirit. Laura is a trauma-informed writer and author, as well as being an avid homecook. If you’re seeking a warm, engaging newsletter that manages to be both kind and grounding, I really recommend her work!
Thoughtful and honest writing on cPTSD with a focus on recovery and healing. This is a newer Substack but I'm excited to see how it grows.
Beautiful, heartfelt writing on creativity, travel and navigating an unconventional path. I love Catriona's work and really recommend that you check it out!
