A Walk Away from the City
A One-Paragraph Story
He has to get away from the noise. To nature, escaping the unnerving technological grasp. The roaring of engines and the humming of electricity. The beeping and whirring of computers and their screens. He is walking on through the grassy fields for a long time, inhaling the sharp fragrance. There are many more flowers here. Green vines drape from the trees. Crickets chirp among the fountain grass and then quiet at his approach. The city out of sight. No sign of machinery here. Feeling at ease. Lying in the tall grass. Staring at the stars. Watching them glow while the moon peers through the clouds. Cool dew on the skin. Silence. Smiling at the sight of a shooting star, or perhaps a satellite drifting by. He makes a wish.

Reminds me of that part of Siddhartha where Siddhartha leaves behind the city to return to the river. Very nice Christian
