If you are searching for the important events that happened on the Thor, please go here.

Thor's calendar seems to be quite similar to what most people know, the Gregorian calendar. The Gregorian solar calendar is an arithmetical calendar. It counts days as the basic unit of time, grouping them into years of 365 or 366 days.

A year is divided into twelve months:
1st: January with 31 days
2nd: February with 28 or 29 days
3rd: March with 31 days
4th: April with 30 days
5th: May with 31 days
6th: June with 30 days
7th: July with 31 days
8th: August with 31 days
9th: September with 30 days
10th: October with 31 days
11nd: November with 30 days
12nd: December with 31 days

In conjunction with the system of months there is a system of weeks. A week has seven days in total:
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday

A day is divided into 24 hours, however it's usual for people to divide it into am (during the morning, from 0:00 to 12:59) and pm (the rest of the day, from 13:00 to 24:59). Each hour is divided into 60 minutes. A minute is worth 60 seconds and a second is more or less the time you take to say "1 Mississippi" out loud.

On your guide, you may click at the bottom right corner, and there it'll tell you the time, week day, day, month and year. So when the following appears:
1:49pm, Tuesday, 15th November, 20349
it means currently passed 13 hours and 49 minutes since the second day of the week started. It's currently the 15ht day of November, which is the 11th month of the year 20349.

[ooc: 20349 corresponds to 2011 and 20350 will be during 2012)]

GB: S.S.Sif

S.S.Sif is part of the S.S.Fleet and is a sister-ship of the S.S.Thor. Like all ships from the fleet, its objective is to find refugees from the worlds that were destroyed and save them.

S.S.Thor met its sister-ship Sif on 25th April 20349 and refugees from both ships were allowed to mingle.

Originally interred into the Fleet three hundred fourteen years ago, S. S. Sif specialized in collecting fine art and rare species the Universes over, in addition to its duty in providing moving residence for the refugees from the simultaneous planet destructions. It now houses the four largest art collections in the known universes, including the Living Art Gallery made famous by Yffrn Jcnntalo in XXXXXX. Most pieces found in this gallery are interactive with their viewers, fun for the children in the lighthearted sectors, more intrusive when venturing toward the dark and seductive.

Thankfully, no actual damage is usually done, given the holographic nature of most the art pieces. There are a few mishaps, recorded for postery's sake and often replayed in pubic for general consumption.

The seventeen zoos are state of the art, usually only allowing escapees during planned hours. Many of the breeding programs here on the S. S. Sif are considered a wild success, helping to preserve non-sentient species across the worlds.

Also known for a variety of fine drinking and dining, the S. S. Sif has been producing massive exports of alcohols not found elsewhere in the universe since one IID mishap blessed a young matriarchal household with an uncanny knack for figuring out how to make basically anything drinkable enough that it takes two shots to kill you.

"One shot to live," is a common saying found plastered throughout the S. S. Sif.

The S. S. Sif also has one of the most active racing networks among the fleet, if largely by biological means. Chocabi racing, rainbow lizard charges, and Gnuxpuff sprints can be seen in the recreation levels daily. Betting is a favoured pasttime of many citizens of the S. S. Sif.

This ship is also important due to its “duplicates”. In this large place, there are different universes, different time lines and parallel dimensions. Because of that, there can be several different versions of yourself roaming the universe. On the Thor, such thing doesn’t seem to happen; you will never have a clone, unless you already had one when you were in the planet you were brought from (yours or not). However, on S.S.Sif there were many different versions of the same refugee.

Basically, you are not the only one who exists, and you may have a weird parallel evil twin somewhere. All versions are different from you, not physically, but as in background and personality.

When this visit ended, the Improbability Drives returned everyone to the ship they began on, regardless of whether or not they've decided they want to stay on the other ship. However, it is possible for a wormhole to open one day and bring refugees from the Sif to the Thor.

[ A T T E N T I O N : Restricted access* ]

Quite many strange happenings have been going on that may or may not be related to the Captains. For years, S.S.Thor never found another sister ship, yet in just a month they found two (S.S. Sigrun and S.S.Sif). Sigrun "accidentally" exploded right after our captains got the blackbox they so needed, not letting anyone know - even the Refugees that helped them to retrieve it - the actual contents of the black box - they only showed a very touching video about hope and how we should trust our captains (perfectly fitting, considering how the refugees have been against the captains for a while). And the Purists threat also appeared during such time, perfect to make us forget our differences with our captains and fight together against them.

It is safe to assume the captains are fully capable and willing to lie to us. And very willing to try to keep us refugees docile. Such was achieved since no one ever questions our captains anymore.

S.S.Sif

Meeting of other "versions".

- Date: 25th April 20349
- DATA ACCESS ; DATA PROOF ; CAPTAIN'S COMUNICADO

However, this doesn’t happen to everyone.

Some of the refugees don’t come directly from their world; instead, they come from an intermediate world, where they have been either for a little while, either for over a year. When a refugee from that intermediate world shows up, that intermediate world was the one that was destroyed, not their original.

Thor, IID or our Captains are not responsible for bringing you to this intermediate world and it doesn't mean it was wormholes fault either. Others might have found out a possible explanation somewhere else, but no one from the Thor’s crew or Thor’s gadgets was ever responsible for said world.

It’s also necessary for you to understand that in this large place, there are different universes, different time lines and parallel dimensions.
GB: Rooming

One of the things you are given when you arrive on the Thor is a piece of paper that has a number divided in two. The first part, a 3, is the floor number where you’ll be living. The second is the room number. You’ll be sharing your room with several other refugees and along the way, as you work and have money, you may upgrade rooms. The last floor is the 8th and it’s the best you can get.

There are several different rooms to choose from, assuming you have enough money. They are all the same size, but the standards may vary, and the cheapest rooms have to be shared.

× The Stowaways
These are located on the lowest floor of the Residential Area. Living here is free, and it's where your character will stay until they are assigned a mission and can pay for something better. If the room is full, you'll be sharing with four other people. Each bedroom is about the size of a student's dorm room, there's a tiny bathroom with a shower, a small kitchen, and something that might be called a living area as long as you're not all trying to stay in there at once.

× The Deckswabbers
You only share with three other people now. The bathroom has a tub as well as a shower. The living area is slightly bigger, but the rooms are about the same size. There's not as many holes in the walls, though.

× The Condos
These rooms are shared with only two other people, the bathroom is bigger, the living area comes with its own TV, and the rooms are actually of a decent size. The kitchen also has a better fridge, stove and microwave, as well as a coffee pot, a blender, and a few other necessities you probably missed.

× The Apartments
Each room is now divided into two separate apartments. You have your own kitchen, your own bathroom, increased privacy. The downside is, if you want a roommate, you'll have to share a bedroom.

× The Suburbs
Here you share with one other person, and while you need to have a roommate to apply for one of these, you also always get to choose who you live with. Some of these come with three bedrooms as well (making the other rooms slightly smaller), though you can use the third for whatever you want.

× The Suites
You get the whole room to yourself. They come with two or three bedrooms in addition to a living area, but if you'd like to use any of these rooms for something else, feel free to decorate as you want. Everything is of higher quality, and there's even a minibar (though you still have to pay for the drinks). Each room also has a holographic window, which will show you any scenery you want. If turned off, it will completely blend in with the wall, though you can also just close the curtains.

It’s to note, you may change rooms and go bum to someone else’s room. That doesn’t mean your original room is “free”; it’s still considered yours.

Money is what moves the world, the galaxy and the universe. In order for you to live, you need money or at least you need someone who will either give it to you or give you things that cost money. In order to rebuild your world, you’ll need a lot of it, and no one will be kind enough to pay it for you.

When you first arrive on the Thor, you are given a small amount of credits and this amount comes to you monthly, even if you don’t work. It’s called the Minimum Wage. You can, however, get promoted and access other kinds of wage. The wages are: Minimum Wage, Somewhat Decent Wage, College Degree Wage, CEO Wage, and Inherited From Dead Rich Aunt Wage.

When you start working, you must start at the basis. The system will not allow you to subscribe to jobs that don’t correspond to your current wage. You need to properly finish the base mission and depending on how well that goes, you will get promoted, earn more money, and have more freedom.

As you go, missions will be separated into tiers, and, based on how well you have done, you’ll be promoted a tier and be able to go on harder missions. Harder missions means higher wages.

In order to subscribe to these missions, you’ll have to fill your name and room under the respective slot. There will be a bulletin posted on a screen in your cabin at the beginning of every month with a list of what's available. The jobs or missions are divided into sections based on career paths. There will be an open number of slots for each job which you can sign up for on a first come, first serve basis.

You can subscribe to more than one job, and of course, raise your wage quicker. If you like to work 24 hours a day, you can even try that.
At the end of the month you’ll be getting your money. Only at the end. That is, if you do your job well.

It is to note how glitchy this whole system is. It’s not uncommon for you to sign up for something and later on fund out you were placed somewhere else. Or some of your friends decided it’d be a nice prank. If your name is there, do the job, or you might lose the Wage you currently have by rejecting a job.

Usually theses jobs are offered either by Thor’s citizens or by the Planet’s citizens. Since each month we visit a different planet, each month you have to sign up for a new mission and you don’t keep your job permanently.
Anyone can take these jobs, be it citizens or refugees.

Alternatively, you can directly go to an enterprise or association and ask to be permanently employed by them. Remember that Tor’s leaves the planet at the end of the world, so these enterprises MUST be on the Thor.

There is also the chance for the refugees open their own working place and hire citizens or refugees (usually refugees since Citizens rarely allow themselves to work for a refugee). In order to go freelance WITH a working place, you must contact the Vogon’s office, fill hundreds of useless forms and have money (if you don’t have a working place, this isn’t needed). If you are looking to hire someone else, do contact the Employment center, so at the beginning of each month, the job openings will be added to the community bulletin. If you don’t wish to go through bureaucratic means, do it on the guide, but realize you might not have anyone signing up for the job.

GB: Credits

When you arrive on the Thor, you are given a small amount of funding. This consists of a card with your name on it, or several round, flat objects able to fit in the palm of your hand known as credits. In order to keep your credits and to perform transactions the safest way, you can put them on an electronic credit card.

In order to use this card – which is yours and has your name – all you have to do is to pass it through the machine or scanner when you are buying something. This is easier than it sounds, especially because there are instructions, even in your guide.

This credit card can be acquired at a Bank. There are many places where you can connect to the Central Thorian bank, and you can always use your Guide's GPS in order to find them. Or you can go directly to the Central Bank, but you’ll regret it because Vogons work there aswell.

Credits are the money used on the S. S. Thor, and are accepted anywhere in the universes where the S. S. Thor takes you. You can earn credits pretty much the same way you’d be able to get money in your world: working, stealing, selling your things and so on.

One credit is equivalent to enough to buy a small drink. Five would be enough to buy a sandwich. I can’t tell you what exactly is the value since every world and country has its own currency.

GB: Death and Resurrection

As refugees, we have the chance to rebuild our worlds, however, space is incredibly dangerous and… whatever. This is not the actual reason why we cannot die permanently.

Yes, you heard me right. Refugees on the Thor can’t and won’t die permanently because we are resurrected. When we first arrive on the Thor and are forced to fill out all of that paperwork, along the way we sign a contract with our Captains. Whenever we die, they will bring us back using their own money, as long later on we pay a toll in exchange – what the toll is, is currently unknown.

The winkle forms, Section J-26 subsection R, Paragraphs 11 through 17, states:
"The undersigned herein grants permission for any crew member, current or future, to determine whether the undersigned is in need of resuscitation; and that in cases wherein the undersigned in unable to give consent, a crew member may order for the undersigned to be resuscitated, and a necessary cost charged to the undersigned following successful resuscitation."

In order to revoke these permissions please fill form is D-134, fuchsia. They are to be performed in quadruplicate and require both your signature and that of a witness on each form. They take approximately one month to process.

The reason why they bother resurrecting us is still unknown. Captains have claimed to be kindness from their part and because we do not have the money to pay for that.

It’s of importance to note that when a refugee becomes a citizen, he will no longer be resurrected because all refugees are being safed to reach home safe and sound; if they become citizens, they have a new home. So if you do become a citizen, try to be rich. This is a reason why citizens dislike Refugees so much.

Resurrections are prepared by Cryo-Organic Repair and Preparation for Scientific Examination Labs. You may actually contact these labs and they will explain you (actually, they won’t. They’ll just tell you it’s a machine) how they do this.

Because we are resurrected, there is no reason why the Vogons should ever take the names off the Refugee list.

This would also explain – yet it’s simply an assumption - why such a lenient punishment to those who have killed. Serious offenders such murderers and the like, are locked up for at least a week or two, and leaning strongly towards the latter for repeat offenders.

[ A T T E N T I O N : Restricted access* ]

Resurrection
Periwinkle forms, Section J-26 subsection R, Paragraphs 11 through 17:
"The undersigned herein grants permission for any crew member, current or future, to determine whether the undersigned is in need of resuscitation; and that in cases wherein the undersigned in unable to give consent, a crew member may order for the undersigned to be resuscitated, and a necessary cost charged to the undersigned following successful resuscitation."

In order to revoke these permissions please fill form is D-134, fuchsia. They are to be performed in quadruplicate and require both your signature and that of a witness on each form. they take approximately one month to process.

- Found by: Heero Yuy
- Date: 19th January 20349
- DATA ACCESS

GB: Law and Judicial system

Law and Judicial system on the Thor is something very unique. So unique that is almost ridiculous. Even our Captains admit they are flawed and would like help in order to create something better for everyone, however if you politely ask why the system is so out of date, the best answer they will give you is 'Because we feel revolving doors are just too slow.'

The system goes pretty much the same way as you’d remember it; police, detectives, judges, a court. Except you will need to add the heavy bureaucratic level and complete disregard of what punishment actually means.

Just like in any other city, there's crime. That definitely includes lots of unsavory, seedy characters and plenty of shady dealings. There is plenty of crime, not only by the citizens but also by the Refugees themselves.

On the other hand, there is the Police. There is a huge police station down on the 4th floor, with police officers of every species and from every planet in the galaxy, and a few other places as well. Some of them are very powerful in their own right, and these will be called in when necessary. Spread out over the ship, there are smaller police stations, and there are visible patrols at all times of the day. Occasionally newcomers are hired to help, but they do not rely entirely on their help.

The prison is large enough to hold every criminal on the S.S. Thor, and the cells are of every shape and size. They're built to withstand meteor impact and worse, so you will have a hard time breaking free. Occasionally there's a glitch in the walls though, usually when the Infinite Improbability Drive is on. When that happens, prisoners just waltz out the doors, and the crime rate increases until they can be hunted down again.

Visiting hours are from 3-6pm, and attempting to sneak in outside of that will get you thrown in a cell for the night if you're caught. Phonecalls are a privilege, but prisoners keep their Guides if they have them, allowing them to communicate with the outside. There are also other facilities, including entertainment, that they'll have access to during the day. Of course, all prisoners are also made to work.

This would be seemingly acceptable if it wasn’t for the punishments.
Serious offenders such murderers and the like, are locked up for at least a week or two, and leaning strongly towards the latter for repeat offenders.
Medium offenders such as robbery, theft, etc, you’ll be kept locked up for a few days to a week, leaning towards the latter for repeat offenders.
Minor offenders like public indecency, property damage, pissing off the vogons, etc., you’ll be thrown in a cell for the night, maybe a few days at most, before the guards get bored of you and let you out.

Keep in mind that once you’ve arrived on the Thor, all your past crimes are gone. This means Thor’s judicial system will not judge you for what you did. It doesn’t mean someone else won’t do it by their own means.

GB: Citizens

Citizens are those people who live on Thor and consider it their “world”. Vogons, by that notion, are citizens, such as the captains and every other being that wasn’t saved by a wormhole and the IID.

Some of them have lived on Thor since long ago and were never refugees; they either joined the crew when the ship started working, or they came to live here during their travels or by leaving their planet (since the Thor visit a new planet each month). For them, this is just a place to travel, work and live.

However, some of these citizens were once Refugees who decided to become part of Thor’s system. According to the paperwork (if you bother reading it), you may become a Citizen yourself, and your price? A nifty membership card. Now what you lose is a different story.

Only refugees are brought back to life, not citizens, because a regular citizen rarely has enough money for this. While refugees have this right because captains pay for it, in exchange for a toll, once a refugee becomes a Citizen, this contract is no longer in action. The reason why is because all refugees are being safed to reach home safe and sound; if they become citizens, they have a new home.

By norm, people on the Thor are working to make refugee's life better and not their own, hence their disdain. To aid this, Citizens are not resurrected. So it’s not unusual for refugees to be treated badly by Citizens, and this explains the existence of groups such as Thor for Thorians.

Thor for Thorians is a group that has been putting pressure on law enforcement and forming vigilante groups, with the intent of making life rough for refugees and to hopefully drive them out. These citizens' families have been on the Thor for many generations, and their arrival was not linked to any world destruction.

Usually Citizens are the ones who offer jobs (though such may also happen in the Planet), and these jobs are not for refugees only. Even citizens do those jobs since some people will do anything for money, though it’s much more usual for a refugee to take them than a citizen. You can assume these jobs are basically “low-life” so the low-lifes should take them.

[ A T T E N T I O N : Restricted access* ]

Thor for Thorians
Rumor has it that they may be secretly affiliated with or perhaps influenced by The Purists.
- DATA ACCESS ; DATA ACCESS

GB: Captains

The S.S. Thor is run and maintained by three distinguishable captains, who keep the vessel running smoothly (whatever they assume that means) by following the IPS laws. They oversee and coordinate the S.S. Thor's large crew, and make sure that the station and all its myriad systems (life support, power, gravity, the Infinite Improbability Drive...) are in check.

They are what you may consider aliens, however, many would say they resemble animals they’ve once met: mice (there was once a mole). Despite this, they are – so they claim – extremely intelligent beings, that their real form (in a different dimension) is quite different from what we see and that their lifespan is longer than a regular human’s.
This position of captaincy is hereditary, however, Thor’s captains have received the best training possible and have, as matter of fact, been in this position for several years now.

Not much is known about their ancestors, but it is known they were trying to find the answer for the ultimate question: meaning of life. This matter wasn’t, however, explained nor dragged on and our current captains’ say their objective has changed. Their current mission is to save as many as possible and to find Magrathea to rebuild the worlds of those they have saved. Questioning them ‘why’ will get you different answers: because they are caring souls, because it pays, maybe they are curious or if you want to be paranoid by yourself, it might still have something to do with the meaning of life.

You’d think only mice would be able to become Captains due to this hereditary predisposition, but no. Humans can become captains themselves by gaining the trust of the staff: working with our saviours whenever they request aid – this happened in S.S.Sigrun (not S.S.Thor) and the same human captain, while assured us he truly believed they are doing the righteous thing by following the mission they were given, he had grown wary of some of his orders.

While we often attribute power and intelligence to our captains, they often get frustrated since we want more from them than they can give and more than they know. If it is indeed true, then we can assume they are just normal people and getting mad at them won’t get us anywhere (truthfully, even if they were lying to us, getting mad at them still won’t get you anywhere).

They did not destroy anyone’s world. And they do not control who comes on board, who leaves and the events at the end of the month; in fact, the same happens to them, we just don’t see it (we hear it, though, they often make posts whenever they use the Drive and arrive to a new planet). On the matter of the Drive, our captains have chosen not to put coordinates on it and allow it to randomly hop about in space, because we need improbability to find Magrathea, seeing it’s a very improbable happening.

Magrathea, the planet that revives planets, is one of our captain’s objectives, and will allow the refugees to get their home worlds back (hence why we need money and work for Thor), and with some voodoo the Magratheans do we will be able to live there. I must add this was all read in a brochure the captains found (or perhaps their superiors, who cares). They also admit that everyone wants something different out of Magrathea, so it’s easy to tell it’s not just about rebuilding worlds.

The special case of S.S.Thor’s captains was that they refused to show their faces to the refugees they have saved. Why? Perhaps because no one would take them all that seriously, or perhaps because they were planning something. Whatever the reason was for them not to show their faces, it changed due to a terrorist attack lead by Refugees on August 20348.

Two refugees, sick and tired of not being able to get some answers, broke into the newsroom and took over, broadcasting their demands to the entire ship, one of them being exactly to meet the captains who always hid from us and to finally answer all the questions the Refugees on the Thor had. This was how we first learned about those who controlled this huge spaceship and due to this action, now they dislike us and we distrust them.

Before you even dream of doing this, I must add a note: the Captains let us know they do have a back-up plan if this sort of thing happens again. They just hoped not to use it at the time.

With this we were able to learn things such as the fact that our Captains hire Vogons because are the best when it comes to bureaucracy and they don’t want to do that sort of job. They also admitted that Judicial and law system is very flawed and welcome our help to make it better, which would explain the creator of groups in order to protect Thor, its citizens and its refugees.
But that’s not all.

We were told it was impossible to know where other ships are or contact them (either from the S.S.Fleet or not). This is, however, a lie and many events have proved other wise:
- A group of refugees managed to return to Thor after being lost in space.
- A probe was sent to find out the destiny of a world belonging to a refugee and returned.
- A refugee left the ship for 6 months in order to explore space, and returned to this specific ship without any strange “voodoo”.
- Thorian Pilot's Association – that trades between ships and worlds - is able to contact their ships even when not close to Thor, locate them and reach them.
- Some refugees still contact other ships.

They also mentioned matters of Death and resurrection. No refugee dies on the Thor, they are brought back to life due to a contract we sign when filling forms. Whenever they resurrect us, we will have to pay a toll but there is no explanation about what kind of toll it is. If you are worried, you may choose to cancel this contract by contacting the Vogons. On the other hand, citizens are not resurrected, mostly because they don’t have money for it (Captains pay for our resurrection. As to why, all they answered was that it was because they were very kind).
It’s of importance to note that when a refugee becomes a citizen, he will no longer be resurrected because all refugees are being safed to reach home safe and sound; if they become citizens, they have a new home. So if you do become a citizen, try to be rich.

Current Captains:
×) Captain Fluffums – a mole, who has the easiest yet the most naïve personality of them all.
×) Captain Poco - a mouse. Is the newest and most inexperienced of the current captains. Friendly enough, yet quite shy.
×) Captain Smudgy - a mouse- Quite cynical and snappish, and doesn’t like to hide how much she dislikes us.

Former Captains
×) Captain Beetlebob - a mouse. Quite polite and accessible enough.
×) Captain Cuddles - a mouse. Pretty much like Smudgy, if not worse.

[ A T T E N T I O N : Restricted access* ]

The captains blatantly lied to the refugees by denying it was possible for us to contact other ships. Such data can be found in the following access: DATA ACCESS 1 + DATA ACCESS 2
This was proved to be a lie (see below the sections: Lost in space, Haruno Sakura, Gon Freece, Sho, Loki)

It's necessary to mention, why they haven't lie about other things (so far), they have kept information, claiming we just didn't ask the right questions. Examples of this behavior was telling us we'd die if we stepped away from the Thor, but failing to explain that such process could take over 6 months.

S.S.Sigrun
REDIRECT TO PATH [[REFUGEE_INDEX:]INFORMATION[;SIGRUN_UNLOCK]] ; DISPLAY PATH ;
Captain admitted to have grown weary of the orders given; it is to believe that the Captains' superiors may have some extra objective in their agenda that we and not even the captains themselves know. It's necessary to proceed carefully regarding this matter due to the risk of approaching highly established members of the society.

- Date: 31st March 20349
- DATA ACCESS

Resurrection
Periwinkle forms, Section J-26 subsection R, Paragraphs 11 through 17:
"The undersigned herein grants permission for any crew member, current or future, to determine whether the undersigned is in need of resuscitation; and that in cases wherein the undersigned in unable to give consent, a crew member may order for the undersigned to be resuscitated, and a necessary cost charged to the undersigned following successful resuscitation."

In order to revoke these permissions please fill form is D-134, fuchsia. And while they figure out how to deal with this, the captains declared a state of emergency.

Later that night, another message from the captains was broadcast, announcing a press conference, where refugees were allowed to ask questions and see the captains through video conference.

During the state of emergency, aliens were patrolling the ship at all hours. At first, everyone was expected to stay in their rooms. After a day or so, they started delivering food to keep everyone placated. The security slowly let up, but the situation lead to no new missions handed out to refugees during the month since there was an emergency and the refugees were terrorists.

- Objectives:
GB: Deep Thought

To settle the issue they built a "stupendous super computer which was so amazingly intelligent that even before the data banks had been connected up it had started from 'I think therefore I am' and got as far as the existence of rice pudding and income tax before anyone managed to turn it off...

Deep Thought, the size of a small city, was a computer programmed to calculate the answer to the Ultimate Question of life, the Universe, and everything. After seven and a half million years, it came up with the result of 42; but the problem was that it didn't know the question itself (no one actually did), so it commissioned yet another super computer to calculate it.

It was this same computer that created the Point of View gun, that exposes the target to the Point-of-View of whoever fired the gun.
No other information was given and doesn't really seem all that interesting, anyway

GB: World destruction

World destruction

Our planets were destroyed. This is what we have been told once we arrive; everyone we knew, every place we visited is now gone. While very shocking to you, this is something that actually happens quite often in the universe. In a larger scale, you can compare destroying a house the same as destroying a planet.

As much I’d like to blame them for this, our captains did not destroy a planet. The purposeful destruction of a world must be, just like everything else in this bloody universe, bureaucratically taken care of, else you’d be braking a lot of intergalactic laws. There are many reasons why a planet is destroyed: asteroid, someone wanted to build a highway, perhaps the planet was just dying from the beginning, or someone was an idiot and pushed a red big button saying “don’t push”. In the end, it’s said that accidental destruction and purposeful destruction of the planets has 50/50 ratio.

Some groups believe this happens because the people living on those planets were evil and were “unbalancing” the universe. Basically: karma.

S.S.Fleet exists to rescue people from those planets that were destroyed, by using the Infinite Improbability drive and its side effect, the wormholes. Now, how can you believe them? And why should you believe this? If you do or don’t, it’s entirely up to you and no one really cares. There is, however, proof that they were.
- You can either check the list of the World’s destruction. There, you’ll find all the information you need regarding that event, some may even have records of it, and also coordinates and statistics of the planet.
- Other is the fact that once a refugee send a probe to the coordinates of their planet; they found familiar constellations and according to them, their planet was really located there. Except it wasn’t there. All that the probe acquired were pictures of rumble.
- Finally, a group of refugees left S.SThor for two months in order to search for their worlds. Very much like once done to the probe, they followed towards the coordinates given, located constellations and concluded that their world was not there.

Again, believe it or not, no one cares.

There is always the issue with the wormholes. Some people are “sent back to their world”, only to return again, or some people are sent back to their world and… end up dying there. Does that mean your planet is still alive? No. The best explanation for those who don’t understand quantum physics well enough, is: it means you were just taken from the past. Currently your world doesn’t exist anymore; you exist because a wormhole went to the past and picked you there.

For those who have a better imagination, this is what the captains explained once: Earth (or whatever you want to call your planet) was destroyed at any point in time; present, past and future. Who has seen or is from the future knows Earth as it is in the future and is now being told Earth exploded; however, someone from the past knows it as it is in the past, but they are also being told it exploded exact the same way. You don’t know when it actually happened. It just happened and affected the whole timeline, and picked people from many different moments. You can meet people who are from the future, the past or the present time.

In the end, you can be sent back to your world. If you are lucky, your world will only be destroyed in 100 years, so only your children get to feel that despair. If you are not lucky, you may feel it in two months. It greatly depends when you were picked relatively to the lifespan left on your planet.

Not all is lost, so they say. In order to get your world back, the captains are trying to find Magrathea, the planet to revive all planets. It is the home of a form of specialist industry: custom-made, luxury planet building. Sad to say that there are no coordinates, some call it a myth, and we are randomly hopping around space hoping to randomly find it by using the improbability of that fact (hence the drive).

There are, however, groups, such as the Purists, who believe the worlds are being destroyed for a reason and that the refugees should not be allowed the right to exist. These groups and beliefs are not uncommon.

[ A T T E N T I O N : Restricted access* ]

Haruno Sakura, refugee, wormholed
- Probe sent in order to locate her home world; use of coordinates given by the Vogons; constellations match.
- Objectives: Acquiring proof of said world destruction
- Date of departure: unknown
- Date of arrival: unknown
- Data retrieved: no presence of the world
- DATA ACCESS

Loki
- Refugees left in order to locate their home worlds; use of coordinates given by the Vogons; constellations match.
- Objectives: Deep space exploring, search for S.S series such as Sigrun, search for the Purists and search for the dead worlds.
- Date of departure: 1st June 20349
- Date of arrival: 12th July 20349
- Ship ID: Loki
- Crew: Akimichi Chouji, Alex "Wuertz" Renson, Cameron Mitchell, Chie, Devil Sword, Guy Cecil, Haruno Sakura, Hatake Kakashi, John Marston, Kamui, Kanaya Maryam, Katsura Kotarou, Kaylee, Kiriko George, Kiryuu Ichiru, Kiryuu Zero, Knuckles, Logan, Martel, Maxine "Max" Gibson, Mello, Minato Arisato, Nepeta Leijon, Pip Bernadotte, Polly, Raidou Kuzunoha the XIV, Remus, Renge Houshakouji, Rise Kujikawa, Souji Seta, Suguru Fujisaki, Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Obito, Uchiha Sasuke
- Data retrieved: no presence of the worlds in question
- DATA ACCESS ; COMMUNICTIONS CHANEL ; PRE-REPORT

[* ooc: All this information is restricted and kept safe under a proper unhackable filter.
GB: Magrathea

Magrathea

Thor’s objectives (and everyone’s objectives, at least that’s what the Captains hope for) is Magrathea: the planet to revive all planets. It is the home of a form of specialist industry: custom-made, luxury planet building. While there are other planets that will do the same, they seem to be fakes for their products are just very tiny planets same size of a tennis ball.
The only way for us Refugees to get our worlds back is, indeed, with Magrathea, the real one.

The sad part of all of this is that no one knows where to find this planet and is actually considered a myth and a bed-time story for some – as matter of fact, the only proof our captains have of its existence is brochures and some unknown indication that it exists.

I will also tell you there was once a refugee who came from Magrathea. Now, don’t get your hopes up, because I will remind you what it means for a refugee to show up on the Thor: the planet they were at was destroyed. If this is true, it means Magrathea has, indeed, exploded.

Same refugee brought from the planet a quite amazing engine: Point-of-View gun. According to the Guide, it was built by Deep Thought for a council of angry housewives who were tired of ending arguments by complaining to husbands that they "just don't get it, do they?" When fired, the Point-of-View gun exposes the target to the Point-of-View of whoever fired the gun.
Quite a useful gadget. So, as you can see, Magrathea isn’t just to rebuild worlds; our captains have admitted that everyone wants something different out of Magrathea.

In order to keep on searching for this mysterious planet, S.S.Thor uses the Infinite Improbability Drive: the probability of finding Magrathea is extremely low, hence why they need improbability. We are randomly hopping around space in hope to one day find the planet – since S.S. Fleet has been searching for it for a while, you can see how hard this whole task is.

Other thing to note is that we will need money to rebuild our planet and the quantity will depend on the planet’s characteristics. That is why we are told to work on the Thor, make and save money. Once our planet is rebuilt, we won't need the Improbability drive any more because Magratheans can do some "vodoo" that can coordinate the new planet to the body's metabolism which will stabilize it in the same way the Drive does (so the brochure said).

[ A T T E N T I O N : Restricted access* ]

Trillian, refugee
- Claims to have been on Magrathea; has Point of View gun
- Date of arrival: 22nd of October 20349
- DATA ACCESS

[* ooc: All this information is restricted and kept safe under a proper unhackable filter.
GB: Towel and Towel day

The Towel

The towel is one of the four items given to you once you arrive (one being the Guide, the other being coordinates to your new room and the third a card or credits. The fish can't be considered an item since once it’s in your ear pretty much becomes part of you, in a way) .

While we are still very unsure about why the hell is a towel so damn important, fact is that people here say it’s the most massively useful thing any interstellar Hitchhiker can carry since it has great practical and psychological value. I speak for myself when I say this is utter bullshit but many things in this place are, so we just go along with the whole thing.

It is advised to keep the towel near, for there is the so called "Towel Day" on May 25th. Usually this day relates to the towel the refugees have (like forcing us to use it because all the other clothing disappeared on the Towel Day). This doesn't seem, however, to happen every year, so perhaps it's yet another random and illogical thing going on.

GB: Vogons

The Vogons

Vogons are one of the most unpleasant races in the Galaxy - not actually evil, but bad-tempered, bureaucratic, officious and callous. They wouldn't even lift a finger to save their own grandmothers from the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal without orders signed in triplicate, sent in, sent back, queried, lost, found, subjected to public inquiry, lost again, and finally buried in soft peat for three months and recycled as firelighters. These creatures are unimaginative, unable to adapt and came from the planet Vogsphere. They don’t evolve (not more than they already have) and it’s said that even their own planet and nature gave up on them. Despite everything they are told to be intelligent.

Vogons are employed by the Captains of the S.S. Thor to keep the incoming and outgoing refugees coming and going as smoothly as possible; they are also the ones who will hand out the Babel Fish to any new arrivals, as long they fill the proper forms. They are thick-skinned, thick-headed, and are about as sexually appealing as a road accident. The only thing Vogons respect is money, and the only thing that will move them to do what you want is paperwork - correctly filled out, signed, dated, and in triplicate where applicable (and it's always applicable.) If you've missed a line or filled out the wrong form, you will be corrected with something resembling bored contempt and sent after the correct form and sent to the back of the queue. If you're used to getting your way through intimidation, you'd have a better chance of intimidating a rock, so it's recommended you save your energy and efforts for someone who cares.

If you have any questions, I advise you try other means before the Vogons, such as using the network or just asking someone in the street. Still, if you insist and wish to speak with a Vogon directly, go to the Information Desk, and bring with you forms 72, 72a, 72b, and 72b (supplemental). Other advice is for you to learn all the possible colors in the galaxy; because “goldenrod” is very different from “yellow”.

The best way to get a drink out of a Vogon is to stick your finger down his throat, and the best way to irritate him is to feed his grandmother to the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal. The Best Way to Rescue someone from a Vogon prison: don’t. Here is what to do if you want to get a lift from a Vogon: forget it.
The Vogons' battle-cry, and counter-argument to dissent, is "resistance is useless!"

On no account allow a Vogon to read poetry at you. Vogon poetry is the third worst in the universe and they actually use it as a method of torture.
They are also known to throw Hitchhikers out in space (without any oxygen or whatever gas it needs).

GB: Babel fish

The Babel fish

When you arrived on the Thor, you are meet the Vogons – a quiet and “friendly” race as long you don’t talk to them; or look – and after filling the last form which should be form 13c: "Babelfish Release Form", you are given a yellow fish that is stuck inside your ear. From then on, it’s pretty self explanatory.

Simply for more information’s sake, I’ll add that the Babel fish has caused many many wars, arguments and battles regarding its existence and philosophical implications. Because we already have too many issues going on, I shall skip that.

The Babel fish is small, yellow and leechlike, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. It then excretes into the mind of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the conscious thought frequencies with nerve signals picked up from the speech centers of the brain which has supplied them. The practical upshot of all this is that if you stick a Babel fish in your ear you can instantly understand anything said to you in any form of language. The speech patterns you actually hear decode the brainwave matrix which has been fed into your mind by your Babel fish.

In other words, everyone on the ship is speaking the language he or she always has. However, what the listener hears is whatever language he or she understands. As long you have the Babel Fish in your ear, its constantly working. When someone speaks to you, in your language or not, you will not notice any difference, you will still understand it. The language you hear is whatever is being spoken - that doesn't change since the translation takes place in the speech centers of the brain.

A practical example: you speak English and you have learned French. When you hear someone speaking French, you know they are not talking the same language as you do, but you still know what they are saying because you’ve learned French. With the Babelfish, it works exactly the same way, except you don’t learn to speak the language, it’s just directly injected into your brain what it means.

If you want to learn a new language, it'd probably be easiest just to take the fish out for the duration of the lesson.

On the other hand, this does not apply to text - signs, menus, alien books etcetera, are likely to be a complete mystery to the average refugee. The Guide has a translation feature, however, which helpfully translates any written languages you might encounter into one they can understand.

GB: Guide

The Guide

A more advanced user manual to the Guide can be requested from the New Arrival's Office, utilizing forms z67 and z67-9-A.

When a refugee arrives, besides having to meet the most wonderful race on all of the galaxy - the Vogons -, crying for their lost family and world, and faced with a reality many refuse to be true, they are given few gadgets. One of them is the Guide.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It's already supplanted the Encyclopedia Galactica as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, for two important reasons. First, it's slightly cheaper; and secondly it has the words DON'T PANIC printed in large friendly letters on its cover.

And you’d be surprised with the things you can do with it. The Guide works as a cellphone, personal computer, recorder (visual and audio), dictionary, internet and GPS, translator, and allows you access to the network; to those who don’t know what any of that means, I advise you to finally try out your guide: write the word you don’t know and hit “search”. Allow the Guide to guide through it.

As said above, it allows you to post to the S.S.Thor Intranet (called by many Refugee’s network), meant especially to refugees in order to know each other, interact, work, share and act like idiots. The guide keeps records of every single post made to this refugee Network, which means if you wish to know if you were once on the Thor, you can actually read what “you” wrote (as long as you have a lot of patience or know how to properly function with the server and programs used).

The Intranet works based on a program called FlamingFerret, which can be found on every computer on the SS Thor, and can also be installed as a plug-in for the guide. The first time you sign in you will be asked to provide a user name, and you'll also be given the option to have one randomly generated based on your data. No posts to the network may be deleted due to a glitch, the same glitch that will not allow us to change our usernames on the guide. While it’s impossible to delete what you’ve once posted on the Network, you can turn it private – such option can be found in the Post’s settings.
The guides have a parental filtering system as well, which automatically locks any improper post from whoever has the filter on.

These guides are cheap and anyone, even non-refugees, can have one. If you lose your guide, you can quickly get a new one by filling out hundreds of forms that you will hand to the Vogons, or you can hope a maintenance robot will eventually find it and return it to your place of residence.

It's also to note that you can change the Guide as you wish, add new programs, modify the interface and its looks. You can add additional security (to both your physical machine or to the work you keep in there) and you can connect it to other interfaces, such as actual computers, cellphones, or even your coffee machine if for some reason you wish to try it out.

GB: Infinite Improbability Drive

Infinite Improbability Drive

Due to quite insane - yet very logical - explanation of how this device was created, I shall not mention it. You can, however, go search for it in the library and enjoy what you may not quite understand.

The infinite improbability drive is a wonderful new method of crossing interstellar distances in a mere nothingth of a second, without all that tedious mucking about in hyperspace. It was discovered by lucky chance, and then developed into a governable form of propulsion by the Galactic Government's research center on Damogran.

S.S.Thor makes use of this drive for many different reasons, such as faster speed and the improbability variable, which is being used in order to find Magrathea, the planet that will rebuild other planets - the probability of finding Magrathea is extremely low, and hence why they need improbability. The Captains have chosen to leave up to the IID where we shall go (basically, we are traveling randomly through space) – it IS possible to put coordinates to the Drive, Captains just chose not to.

It’s necessary to note that it’s not perfect. Side effects of using the Infinite Improbability Drive include temporary (and sometimes permanent,) changes to environment and morphological structure, hallucinations, and the calling into being of large marine mammals. At the end of every month, the Drive is used and improbable things happen, lasting for one day to a week. These side effects don’t always happen to everyone, however, and who they happen to is mostly left at random.

The Drive only has enough power to affect the area in its immediate vicinity and a bit beyond - that is, the Thor and perhaps about a kilometer beyond the station's hull. It can't affect a planet unless it's on a planet, and the Thor's design doesn't allow for atmospheric navigation, so it will not affect a planet.

A very important side effect of the Drive is, however, wormholes, that are used to rescue people from planets that were destroyed. Those planets don’t have to be anywhere close to the spaceship and could have been destroyed ages ago - wormholes do not obey laws of time and space, so it doesn’t matter when it happen and where it happen. All it matters is that happened and a wormhole will bring one or more people from those planets on board of the Thor. Something I’d like to point out is that the IID is the one that “chooses” who will be rescued.

Other important effect of the IID is keeping us alive. All refuges were supposed to be dead and we are in a permanent state of unstableness, therefore moving away from the Thor is dangerous and you will eventually die. It doesn’t mean you can’t leave the Thor. "Dying" is a matter of how long you stay away from Thor, not proximity of the ship. It depends on the person and the circumstances under which they were rescued, and so it may take just few weeks or over a year.
Once we find Magrathea and rebuild our planet, we won't need the Improbability drive anymore, and so the IID will be overrided, Magratheans do some "vodoo" that can coordinate the new planet to the body's metabolism which will stabilize it in the same way the Drive does (Captain’s words, they read it in a brochure).

GB: Wormholes

Wormholes

They are a common side effect of the Improbability Drive. Unlike what many of you think, the Drive’s objective isn’t just speed traveling, the improbability factor, or pissing you off at the end of every month; it exists to create wormholes, and which without, Thor wouldn’t be able to reach for the refugees they are meant to save.

Wormholes are gates from a place to another, ignoring space-time logic; they are not controlled - you can't find wormholes, they find you. You can't escape a wormhole, however, you can jump into one if there is one nearby that wasn’t meant for you.

They have been studied by the Research and Development department for over 50 years now, and while unpredictable, they are “a necessary evil”. Without them, none of you would have been saved from your world’s destruction. They are what allow our captains to save the refugees and go on with their mission.

Wormholes are unpredictable. Just like they have saved you, they can send you back to your dying world. Keeping in mind a wormhole can ignore time and space, it doesn’t mean it’ll take you from your world during the exact moment of its destruction. It means that you were indeed saved, but you may return back to your planet, live there for 5 years, and only then the world will be destroyed.

Trying not to deviate from the original point, you can be sent back to your world. If you are lucky, your world will only be destroyed in 100 years, so only your children get to feel that despair. If you are not lucky, you may feel it in two months. It greatly depends when you were picked relatively to the lifespan left on your planet.

Don’t panic, though. Those people who disappeared do have a chance of returning back to the Thor later on, or perhaps even sooner than you’d think. This is where I will introduce you the theory “Two types of wormholes”.
Vogons work methodically and quite efficiently when it comes to Refugee’s list. They know when someone arrives and when someone leaves, and for them to update the list accordingly, they need proof that such happened, and they need forms that will validate said proof, and more forms to validate the first ones. This means, the Refugee List is never wrong. If someone is still there, it means they are on board or they will soon be on board, even if they were taken by a wormhole.

One type of wormhole is the permanent type. Refugees are sucked in by a wormhole, go back to their worlds and stay there. Their names are taken off the Refugee List and Vogons erase any record of their existence. These people who left are no longer bound to Thor and it’ll be up to chance and karma and wormholes if they are to be picked up again. These are the people that you can cry for; because there is a chance they will live the end of their world and die.The memories of those who left Thor through a permanent wormhole, if they return, they have no recollection on ever being on the ship. In their point of view they were never on Thor. There is however, records of those who DO remember being on the Thor for the first time even thought they were permanently wormholed; this is still going understudy and a wild guess would be that they were lost in a wormhole for quite a while.

The second type of wormholes is the non-permanent type. People leave Thor, however they are bound to return, even if it takes a month. Vogons do not take their names off the Refugee Lists, and there is no point crying for them because they’ll return soon. Vogons may force them to fill all the paperwork; I suppose it depends on how much they like you.
Those people, who were taken by a temporary wormhole, when return, will keep the memories from the time they were in their world. While they are in their world, they don’t remember the Thor, or see it as a dream. There aren’t many records about this part and not many people have decided to share their experience.

How do the Vogons know what kind of wormhole is it? Maintenance robots.
The maintenance robots that report the disappearances have developed a complex algorithm that has thus far been fairly accurate in determining whether the wormholing of a given person is permanent or temporary. No one's managed to decode it yet, though, even though several top-of-the-line super computers have been employed in the endeavor - and most of them crashed. Considering this, the authorities have decided not to question the maintenance bots, and simply allow them to go about their jobs undisturbed, and make the most of the information they share.
So, when someone leaves and the Refugee list is updated consequently, it means said person did leave for real. If their names are still on the list, they did not leave.

Letter: To new arrivals during the "Lost in space" mission

[The feed starts with a familiar face. Yes, it is, indeed, Mello. O)f course he has a very pleasant frown on his face |=] If you are seeing this it’s because you are either Near, Matt or Halle. You’ve got this clip from someone named Agito Wanijima and the reason why he is the one talking to you it’s because I currently can’t do so. I’m not on Thor because I took a mission to outerspace at the beginning of June.

You can read the details about said mission on LINK 1. We will return in six weeks.

If you are still watching this, I will let you know that I’ve been officially dead for nearly three years. While must sound absurd for you, fact is, after my death I woke up in a strange world without a name. I called it the Grand Line for that was the ocean we were travelling in. That world was destroyed and I doubt it matters.

However, I’ve also compiled information about it and you may read it on LINK 2.
I’ve met Agito there and he works for me. I do not usually call anyone my ally, however that brat is indeed one. Trust him.

After the world was destroyed, I was brought to Thor on September of last year. There is much going on, related to the mission I took, and unrelated to it. I cannot explain everything in this clip, however, you can read all of the information I’ve gathered on LINK 3.

Agito will be able to answer most questions you have.

ATTACHMENT:
LINK 1
LINK 2
LINK 3

Objective: Deep space exploring, search for S.S series such as Sigrun, search for the Purists and search for the dead worlds.
Departure Date: 1st June 20349
Arrival Date: 12th July 20349

Stops:
Mid Atlanticana
Milliways Bar:
Bultun Nine : Bultun Nine is a wonderful, nature-filled planet known for its bountiful resort towns. Largely focused on homeopathic remodies for just about anything, if the crew was here to pick up packages from a merchant trader using Bultun as a stopping point. There's a city to explore, along with a trip to one of the reknown hot spring resorts arranged by their merchant contact.

People:
Traveller "Bob"

Notes:
Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster

INFORMATION GATHERED

Purists
Fanatics
Found everywhere, but they have only spread as far as the S.S. Fleet. They haven't made enough progress to expand outside of the SS series.
They can be identified by an emblem on the left side of their collar bone - Geometric shapes, fit together nicely, small and about pin sized.
They don't care for those who are off the Fleet.
Even those who are not refugees or once part of the Fleet are still wary and very secretive when talking about them.

S.S.Sigrun
A "legend"
Sigrun went rougue and stopped hunting Magrathea
Treffle Olendeck - second generation descendent of Sigrun refugees (grandparents were part of the ship and mom was born right after it went out of commission). He is currently searching for Sigrun due to some scientific research and a legacy that his grandmother left behind, written on letters. The letters made references to places they stopped, deposits his grandma made here and there, however, Olendeck only cared for the S.S.Sigrun..

Worlds
Worlds destruction was proved to be true

Mission: Sigrun's cargo hold

Attention Team Richezza:
In light of examining the qualities that your team has to offer, we have decided on a location to dispatch you to.

We would like for you to investigate the Cargo Hold. We have records of the last shipment that the Sigrun received before disappearing, and we feel that one of the crates might have played a role in the crew's disappearance! Recover that crate and any data you can on it!

-----

OOC Info

THE CARGO
Gravity: no
Life-support: No
Energy: no

As you search the lightless cargo hold, you'll notice that any and all crates that held food and perishable items have been torn open and their contents devoured. You'll hear noises, but it might just be the ship settling. The crate you're looking for is in one of the offices, and as you approach them, the creaking and groaning will become louder. When you search the offices, you'll find that the terminals have all been destroyed, by what, you don't know. Curiously though, they all seem to have been torn apart by the same thing that tore open the crates of food. When you finally reach the office with the crate you seek, everything will seem normal...at least at first. What your team will see are hundreds upon hundreds of glistening eggs, all netted in a mucus membrane around the office. The crate you sought? Open, with crushed egg shells spilling out of it. What your team won't see, however, are the nano-threads that are netted throughout the office. Touching even one will alert the denizens of this section of the hold that their nest is in danger. That creaking you heard will turn into a tumultuous roar as the vents burst open, hundreds of these pouring out to defend their nest. There is no prize to be brought back to the Thor here, there is only survival. Do your best to survive and good luck!

TEAM RICHEZZA
Mello (leader)
Wolf O'Donnell
Richezza
Sherlock '09
Akito/Agito/Lind
Amaterasu
Integra
Rose

Team division:
- Agito, Integra, Rose, Mello (navigator)
- Richezza, Wolf, Ammy, Sherlock (navigator)

The idea is that the team splits in two, each with a navigator that will show them where to go (the cargo is pretty big). They will have communicators, so they can talk to each other, including the rest of the team that is not with them at the moment. Mello would stay behind with his team to retrieve info and salvageable items, while he'd let Richezza to go front looking for the crates. The idea, however, is for them all to be together when shit hits the fan.

Environment: This area of the ship is completely shut down. While all of the doors are unlocked and full access is permitted, there is no power, no life support, no gravity. Something very clearly cut all wires, and the generator itself is completely destroyed. The cargo hold is one of the harshest areas of the Thor, and as such, your team will have to go well-equipped.
There is nothing to be hacked here and Mello will hate you all for it.
Different sections of the cargo hold are in different stages of decay and disrepair; some are in vacuum, some are not. The section the space spiders have nested in is not in total vacuum, even though life-support and gravity are non-existent (aka, there is no oxygen, but there are other unbreathable gases, making it possible for sound to propagate. AKA, YOU HEAR WEIRD SHIT DURING THE WHOLE THING).
Cargo holds are, by nature, fairly uncomplicated, and this one is no exception. Your characters can try looking for a different exit, but none will immediately present itself; the best bet for escape is pretty clearly the way they came in. Locking the doors may slow anything that is chasing you down, but they can still follow through the vents.

Equipment:
- Suits: You be given access to custom space suits, tailored to fit your proportions and needs, as well as very light weight and durable. They will also be carrying back packs, not only to carry salvageable items, but also to carry the oxygen tanks.
- Weapons: If your character has weaponry, they can bring it, however, Mello is also providing weapons and explosives he stole from his last job as a Black Market Weapons Dealer. The mods let anyone choose their weapons at will as long they aren't over-destructive and unrealistic, and do remember the team must hide the weapons from Thor's Vogons, else they will confiscate them (or you'll have to pay Mello for the weapon. He means it). Think MIB type of weapons.
- Explosives are okay to be brought along. I know in a space ship is just dangerous that you blow things up, but a grenade would not destroy the whole area, simply the office. Implosion devices (NOT nuclear bombs. I'm guessing since this is the future they'd have made smaller implosion devices |: ) - the type that instead of expanding the explosion, basically sucks in the surroundings to the centre of the explosion. These were half made by Mello, half stolen. He will give them for FREE, so bring around several, ay? Fire, unless it's God fire (Ammy), will not burn because there is no oxygen. It will still explode, but the fire will need oxygen to spread.
- Ice guns, plasma guns, lasers, beam particles, all it's a go. Just remember, your character can't carry 69854678 weapons with them. Vogons would notice and they'd be slowed down. Make things realistic when choosing your weapons.

Salvageable items
- They are a bit more useful and plentiful here. It appears the Sigrun was carrying a large freight when it disappeared. This includes, unbelievably, research items, cultural effects, books, all of which record and document the various worlds it had travelled. There's also useful tech, weapons, and supplies for harsh environments, including tools to repair ships and other mecha.

Creatures
- Angler Fish: Inside, you'll find creatures that cannot stand the light, and will attack at the slightest provocation. While the form of the creatures is completely up to the player, they are dangerous, they move fast in a weightless vacuum, and have faces akin to an angler fish, only with milky white, pupil-less eyeballs. (They're 99 percent blind). They can swim through the vacuum, they can crawl, leap, whatever you, the players, deem necessary. The group can encounter the anglers or not - that's totally up to you! The cargo hold is pretty massive, and you're just exploring a relatively small part of it.
- Eggs and Spiders. They have hive mentality and react primarily to vibration, so any movement has the potential to nab their attention. Their eyesight isn't too bad either, though, so don't underestimate that! The spiders do float, just like everything else in zero-g! However, they've also got sticky feet which helps them travel along the walls/floors/ceilings rather than drifting aimlessly through the empty space between those places, and they also have lots of gooey spider webbing to fling around, so all in all, they're at somewhat of a mobility advantage.

HOW TO SURVIVE
- Killing these spiders is easy! Whatever method you'd use to kill ordinary spiders will work on them. The biggest problem, really, is the sheer amount of numbers.
- Everyone is allowed to make their own planning, but they ultimately need to escape.
- Mello will not allow the nest to be destroyed while they are near it. Placing there a bomb is a go, but only explode it when you are AWAY and RUNNING.
- Seeing that spiders react to vibration, so we need make them desoriented and not able to follow the team. For that explosives will come in hand. The more vibration caused, the best, so the idea is to place the explosives in areas that would cause most disturbance in order to "blind" the spiders - and by this I mean several areas, spread away from each other.
- Ammy's fire will come in hand too; don't spend your oxygen so you can burn spiders, use Ammy's fire. Ice gun unfortunately doesn't have infinite water inside, but t may be good to create temporary barriers while they place the explosives.

Letter: To the captains

Captains of S.S. Thor.
My name is Tristan, I reside on room 5-3, and I am, like many on this ship, a refugee. I’ve arrived on September 20348, and therefore I didn’t have the chance to directly speak to you when you first showed yourselves to us during August. For that reason, and because I do wish to ask you few questions, I am using this method of contact.
I won’t take your time with foolish flattering, and I’d rather get to the point.

It was told us that we could not leave Thor, else our bodies would disintegrate, seeing we would not have the effect of Thor’s improbability drive. Recent proof has showed us it is not a matter of distance, but time. So my question is, how long does it take until our bodies start to deteriorate if we are not close to Thor?

Still on the same line of thoughts, it’s known you wish to reach Magrathea in order to rebuild our planets. I will not doubt that is possible, but my main concern is what will happen once Thor leaves those “rebuilt” planets. Seeing they wouldn’t have the improbability drive on those planets, how would the refugees survive without disintegrating?

To finish this subject, I’d like to know for how long we will need to stay near the Improbability Drive until we become stable enough to live without it. Or do we have to remain permanently connected to it (until we find, at least, Magrathea)?

I’d also like to understand how certain refugees that supposedly left Thor, returned, and yet they still retain their memories. It was already explained that refugees who disappear return to a point in time when their world still existed, so they may re-appear once more without their memories; however, couple of refugees who returned retained their memories of their time on Thor and they do not remember being on their world. An example can be seen here.
How can this be explained?

Lastly, I’d also wish to comprehend how some people disappear, and few days later, they show up once again saying they were in their world for months. These people usually aren’t pulled off the refugees list the Vogons keep, so they are technically still on Thor; and while they claim to have been gone for months, usually it’s only two to three days. What exactly happened at these situations?

Other thing that has been puzzling my mind is the resurrection of refugees. I do understand this is not your area of expertise, however, who decided that only the refugees were meant to be brought back to life, yet not Thor’s citizens? And why? Thor’s citizens look, in my eyes, much more important than the refugees seeing they don’t do terrorist attacks, for example, nor they go around killing people just because they are bored, like some refugees do.
I’d just like to understand why a refugee’s life is more important than a citizen’s.

And lastly, this is a rather personal query, so you don’t have to answer if you don’t wish to. I’m curious at why you no longer follow your ancestor’s path. They wanted to find the Ultimate Question to the Ultimate Answer; why aren’t you also trying to find it? Why are you saving refugees whom don’t believe in anything you say about saving them, instead?

That will be all. I will wait for your reply.
Regards,

T.

(ooc: "Tristan Beeline" [anagram for Albert Einstein] is the name Mello used to fill most forms on Thor. Others might be Jay (J), Kay (K) or Yu (U).)

GB: Mello's Notes

Captain's 1st contact
Captain's 2nd contact
Zexion's resume
Sigrun
Sif

DATE: 20349

ITEMS

Babelfish
Guide's information on babelfish (after seeing Grand Line, something like a Babelfish evolving is not really that improbable).
The babelfish feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier but from those around it.

Babelfish is constantly working; however, if someone is speaking a language you know, you will not notice its work. But, on the contrary, if someone is speaking a language you do not know, you will hear that language, but you will understand it. This explains why gibberish is not translated.

The Guide
Guide's information on guide
The Intranet works based on a program called FlamingFerret, which can be found on every computer on the SS Thor, and can also be installed as a plug-in for the guide. The first time you sign in you will be asked to provide a user name, and you'll also be given the option to have one randomly generated based on your data. No posts to the network may be deleted due to a glitch, the same glitch that will not allow us to change our usernames on the guide.
The guides have a parental filtering system as well, which automatically locks any improper post from whoever has the filter on.

The Towel
Guide's information on towel
It is advised to keep the towel near, for there is the so called "Towel Day" on May 25th. Usually this day relates to the towel the refugees have (like forcing us to use it because all the other clothing disappeared on the Towel Day).

SPACESHIP S.S.THOR

Thor has existed for few hundred years - LINK 1
Thor exists to save said people who arrive - LINK 1
There are other ships like Thor - LINK 1
Thor's instruments are designed for mice (and mole) - LINK 1

Wormholes
Guide's information on wormholes
A common side effect of the Improbability Drive.
You cannot find wormholes, they find you - LINK 1
Research on the wormholes has been going on for 50 years. - LINK 1
They are being studied by the Research and Development department - LINK 1
They are a necessary evil - LINK 1

Vogons
Guide's information on Vogons
The Vogons are the best when it comes to bureaucracy, so captains hired them - LINK 1 + LINK 2
Captains wish to keep Vogons happy because they don't want their job - LINK 1

Improbability drive
Guide's information on Improbability drive (1st minute)
Captain's information
Improbability drive chooses where we are going. They know when someone arrives and when someone leaves, and for them to update the list accordingly, they need proof that such happened, and they need forms that will validate said proof, and more forms to validate the first ones.

The maintenance robots that report the disappearances have developed a complex algorithm that has thus far been fairly accurate in determining whether the wormholing of a given character is permanent (drop) or temporary (canon update). No one's managed to decode it yet, though, even though several top-of-the-line super computers have been employed in the endeavor - and most of them crashed. The few that survived retired to live quiet lives in the country, competing in intergalactic chess tournaments and generally keeping out of the public eye. Considering this, the authorities have decided not to question the maintenance bots, and simply allow them to go about their jobs undisturbed, and make the most of the information they share.
So, when someone leaves and the list is updated consequently, it means said person did leave for real. If their names are still on the list, they did not leave.

When someone dies, their names aren't taken off the list.

REFUGEES

THERE CAN BE SEVERAL DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE SAME PERSON THAT WERE SAVED.
Different universes, different time lines, paradoxical meetings.
YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE.
Worlds
Worlds were destroyed - LINK 1 + LINK 2 + LINK 3 + LINK 4 + LINK 5 + LINK 6
+ PROOF GIVEN (not currently acceptable) - LINK 1
+ PROOF ACQUIRED BY NARUTO/SAKURA (not final) - LINK 1

Destruction of the planets: not caused by the captains - LINK 1 + LINK 2
Why are the planets being destroyed: several different reasons - LINK 1 + LINK 2
Accidental destruction and purposeful destruction of the planets has 50/50 ratio - LINK 1
Getting our worlds back: Magrathea - LINK 1
Why so many human worlds destroyed (according to some cynical group crap): we are evil - LINK 1
Persecutions when a world is destroyed: only sometimes - LINK 1

Time
We are not taken from the exact moment the world ended.
MM: Mello's notes

RESUME:
http://the-marines.livejournal.com/7896.html

There is no proven mechanism or reason in Grand Line that explains the arrivals of people from other worlds and dimensions
- May be related to "One Piece"

There are other worlds and dimensions, creating many different Earths. It also explains the existence of comic/Tv/book/game characters.
- There is always the possibility all of us are fictional characters in someone else's world.

People disappear randomly from Grand Line. They come back to the point when they were taken.

When they return to their worlds, most do not remember anything that happened in Grand Line. They also "revert" back to their original age (if they stood two years in Grand Line, once they return back to their home world, they'll look two years younger again, as if Grand Line never happened or existed). Those who DO remember, very soon forget about it.

People may go back home and return to Grand Line several times; some will remember again the time when they were in Grand Line, others will act as if they were never there.
- Those who remember will again turn into their "Grand Line" age (following the example above, they'd get their two years back)
- The memories we had of the "originals" soon fade away.

So far, no "new comer" was ever killed; they can be hurt.

.
Notes:"All That Glitters" Mello is wanted under the crime of theft of highly classified Marine information, as well as several counts of assault and petty theft and larceny. The degree of skill and complexity executed in his thievery indicates a possible danger to other secure items. He should be considered dangerous, armed and not alone. Comrades are thought to number anywhere between 10 and 50.

GRAND LINE WAS DESTROYED ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD.
