Maintenance of Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester
  • The machine and the environment needs to be clean.
  • Keep the machine or control system away from hazardous substances, dust, water, excessively damp atmosphere or high temperature.
  • Periodically check the machine to ensure that all components are functioning properly.
  • Perform machine calibration to ensure that measurements remain accurate.
  • Opening of the machine or repair has to be implemented by trained personnel. Make sure the machine is running smoothly after any repairs or after removing a part.

Precautions:

  • Smartindale Abrasion Tester requires routine upkeep.
  • Smartindale is factory calibrated for pressure value. Thus it can only be calibrated and maintained by a qualified trained person.
  • Never modify the tester without the permission of ChiuVention.
  • Always follow the user handbook to avoid damage.
  • Wait 10 seconds after turning it off before turning it on again to prevent circuit damage.
  • Keep away from strong electromagnetic sources.
  • Clean the instrument and control system on a routine basis.
  • Keep the instrument not in contact with corrosive media, water, dirt, high temperatures and high humidity.
  • Maintain and inspect parts and components on a regular basis.
  • For accurate measurement value, the machine should be calibrated regularly.
  • Unprofessional maintenance personnel or any disassembly of the instrument will result in recalibration of device. All repairs and strip down should be effected after the measurement to check the performance.
  • To keep the machine in good working order, clean it after every test.
  • Apply anti-rust oil to the fixture after use and store it.
  • Turn off the power before swapping the sensor or inserting or removing cords. Static electricity might harm the amplifier or circuit if the sensor cable hangs.
  • To maintain accurate readings, calibrate the load cell on a regular basis.
  • To guarantee smooth operation, periodically lubricate moving parts.
  • If the machine breaks it should only be repaired by a professional or the manufacturer.
  • Always use the same original model while replacing parts.
  • ChiuVention will not be accountable for any issues if the instrument is not used as directed.
  • Daily Maintenance
    • Cleans and dries test bench wiping surface rag.
    • Inspect for perforations or faulty placement of the diaphragm.
    • Look for hydraulic oil leaks.
    • Make sure the boosting system engages and works properly.
  • Weekly Maintenance
    • Wipe down the clamps so that you don’t get dust or strands of yarn building up!
    • Inspect hydraulic oil level and top up as necessary.
    • Check hoses and connectors for signs of damage or looseness.
  • Monthly Maintenance
    • Change out old diaphragms and seals if necessary.
    • Dry out of the system air bubbles.
    • Check data stability—recalibrate if needed.
    • Check power cord and wires from damage.
  • Periodic Maintenance
    • Replace hydraulic oil and clean oil system.
    • Perform Full calibration of the pressure sensor.
    • Inspect the software and all electronic components.
    • Have a professional service technician inspect the system completely.

Precautions

  • Regularly clean and sanitize the instrument. Also clean the control system.
  • Keep the instrument or control system away from corrosive media.
  • Avoid using alcohol or solvent cleaner to clean.6
  • Avoid water, dust, extreme temperatures, and excessive humidity.
  • Maintain and inspect parts and components on a regular basis.
  • Calibrate the instrument on a regular basis. This will guarantee the precision of the measurement value.
  • Please use clean water to clean the protective covers and test fixtures.
  • The instrument must not be disassembled by untrained maintenance and verification staff.
  • Measurement performance testing must be performed following each disassembly and repair. This will prevent instrument misalignment.
