Chitta is a mood tracking microjournal that checks in with you throughout the day to see how you're doing. Your mood and energy levels naturally fluctuate over time; creating many searchable entries will give you a better understanding of your own thoughts, actions, and reactions. Create a customized schedule of when the reminders are sent, or just create an entry when you have something on your mind. Search through your captured entries to discover trends and patterns in your thoughts, moods, and actions. Often, simply being made aware of these patterns can create profound insights into oneself. Chitta is named after the Sanskrit word that roughly translates to the subconscious mind. It's the memory bank that stores impressions and experiences. A good way to cultivate the witnessing of chitta is to simply be aware of the streams of thoughts, emotions, images, and impressions that arise in front of manas (on which manas may or may not act).
