I have not used my livejournal for just over a year. Hmm, a lot of stuff has happened. Went to DC alone again (with teacher). Single. In love. Graduated high school and now in college. Have a cool room mate. Had red hair shortly, now have black hair. Went to a concert. Was drunk for the first time. 19 years old now. Own some stock. Loved the show I Love New York 2. Started watching wrestling again. Got a laptop. Industrial piercing came out on one side and I got two more 14G in the same ear. Recently took one piercing out again. Got a tattoo.

I might use this as a journal just to vent. Dunno.

What's been going on?

I took senior pictures in August, and I got them back on September 5. I did not like very many of them. It took me weeks before I went to the portrait studio to tell them I didn't like the pictures. They scheduled me for another appointment in early October. I liked many more pictures from the second batch. When I finally went to buy a picture package, I ended up getting the biggest one. I got the pictures back a week or two ago, and I love them. Maybe this is conceded, but I have pictures of myself all over my room now. If any of you guys want any, I have a few wallets to spare. :)

I saw Hollywoodland back in September, and I did not like it very much. It was kind of slow to me. I wanted to see The Black Dahlia a lot, but I never got around to it. I'll wait until it comes out in another form. I did see Jackass 2, which was hilarious (so I saw it twice). I laughed out loud through the entire movie, both times. Laughing (out loud) at a movie is something I rarely do, so to do it the entire time is a big thing for me. I saw Marie Antoinette also, and I loved it. I don't know if I like the new one or the old one better. I think I like them the same. I saw Borat twice: I was looking forward to it sooooo much, and I loved it. I also saw Accepted with Amanda and my other friend Erica, and it was hilarious as well. I wish I would have seen Bobby, but I never did. Oh, and THE GOOD SHEPHERD is coming out this Friday, which I hope to see at least three times. :D :D :D

I went to a College Fair at Eastfield Community College on Septermber 13, and I didn't think anything of it. Since then I have been accepted to both universities to which I have applied: Texas Woman's University and Texas A&M University at Commerce. I even went to an open house for TWU with my friend Lisa, which was cool. I have been kind of looking forward to going to TWU with my friend Lisa and rooming with her, but she is backing out on me, so I don't know what to do. I hate college anxiety. I just feel like I want to drop ut forever.

I took the SAT and ACT in October. On the SAT I got: Critical Reading=600, Math=540, Writing=580. Last May I took the SAT and got Critical Reading=610, Math=560, Writing=560. So basically this time my scores went down. Poo. For the ACT, I took it the first time ever and got a 27.

So far I have applied to seven scholarships: Coca Cola, Horatio Alger, TWU's, Mensa, Sam Walton Community, Metro PCS, and Ronald McDonald. I am kind of working on three more.

My friend Amanda has her birthday party on September 16 at a place near here called Celebration Station. It was really fun, only like 5 or 6 people were there, and we did a lot of cool things (like paintball, go-cart racing, little motor boat things, and played arcade games). My friend Jury was even permanently bruised by Amanda. And it turns out I have a good shooting aim or something. I got Amanda the movies From Hell and Chocolat for her birthday. Find the missing link to those and you'll know who she loves.

Finally my friend Webba came back home (to Virginia) from Alaska on September 26. I missed talking to him for a long time! He was always my only buddy who would be up late (at like 4 in the AM). We have the coolest convos. He's a great friend.

My relatives came over for the Thanksgiving week and we had fun. (They are not even remotely my age, but I guess it was still fun.) On the day after Thanksgiving, I went to a 5AM sale at CompUSA and got a 10GB Canon digital camera. I love it.

Two more of my friends had birthdays in October, Jessica and Candace. For Jessica I got her the movie Moulin Rouge (because she loves musicals), and for Candace I got the movie The Village (because she likes the movie). My friend Travis had a small birthday party at his home which was fun. I introduced this guy I met (but once kind of knew) to my friend Amanda (through the phone) and I think they're becoming pretty friendly. For Travis, I gave him like $10 for his birthday, because it's so hard to shop for guys! (I think so anyway.) My friend Lisa didn't have a birthday party, but I got her the movie Monster and an I Love Lucy calendar for her birthday. Jeez, you would think that with all this spending I would have a job or something... and I've never had a job!

Friday, December 15, I applied for some jobs for the first time in my life. I was so nervous, I brought my friend Amanda. (I forced her.) There are various parts of town around where I live (Balch Springs, Mesquite, Dallas, and Seagoville/Kaufman). I went to the Seagoville/Kaufman area that Friday to apply, and this is what I accomplished:

That's all for the Seago/Kaufman area. The place I would like to work most is Blockbuster. I don't know about the least. I expect that when I get over the current cold I have, I will apply to jobs in the other areas around me. In case you haven't noticed, I don't want to work directly with food.

On December 9, I got my ear pierced. It isn't your typical ear lobe piercing... Here is a picture from that night.

I got a checking account lately, which feels cool. I even have my own little debit card. :) I've used it once, yesterday. PS: Yesterday I had my 18th birthday party, even though my birthday is on the 28th. I wanted to have one early because some people travel for the holidays. Only four friends came, but I guess I know who my real friends are. (Edith, Jury, Amanda, and Lisa came.) From Edith I got this huge bath/shower gel and lotion thing, and it is heavy! Also it came in a cute Hello Kitty bag. Jury spent $20 on tokens and gave the tickets she won to me, so that was my present from her. :) Amanda ordered my present online so I am going to get it on the 28th. As for Lisa, I don't know.

In January, starting January 21, I will be in Washington DC again. It's going to be cool. This time my friend Jury is going, so I won't be the only student from my school.

Since school has started, I have read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, The Awakening by Kate Chopin, and some of A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift. I've liked them all.

Currently I am enjoying my time off with a slight cold, and am fixed on playing this riddle-type game on http://www.weffriddles.com/ Curse Dennis for getting me addicted!

My AOL is currently messed up, so I am also currently downloading AOL 9.0VR, whatever that is.

So glad I've got a whole LJ post.

Ripley's / Louis Tussaud's [1]

On Friday, I went to Ripley's Believe it or Not / Louis Tussaud's Palace of Wax. I have a lot of pictures from then. Way too many for one post. Here are the first few:

Here is how my week has been, starting from an unknown date right up until this afternoon. Included are random things and even pictures.

A WHILE AGO
Amanda told me that Kevin Sorbo was in town a few weeks ago. He was filming a movie, which I can only assume was Walking Tall 2. The movie must suck because this town is very small. We are a country-type suburb of Dallas. The budget must be low.

WEDNESDAY
Joe and I have played ZSNES games only once this week. It has been a busy week for me.

I saw the movie Sabrina on Wednesday. I had previously seen the newer one, so I knew the story line. This was the first Audrey Hepburn movie I'd seen. I always knew she was beautiful, but wow. I liked the movie but had to miss some near the end to shower. I did catch the end though. :) I went to church after that.

I got a tripod on Wednesday from Wal-mart after church. It wasn't until Saturday that I knew the thing could become 5 feet tall. I am excited, it was only fifteen dollars and it was a great deal. While at Wal-mart, I found a gift that I could buy Joe. From what I know, he has wanted this gift for a long time. I want to buy it soon.

THURSDAY
I got my AP scores. In May I took an English test and a US History test. I made a 3/5 on both of them, so I passed them both. Next year I want to take seven AP tests: Art History, Biology, Macroeconomics, US Government, Psychology, World History, and English Literature. For three of these tests I will not have a class next year (Art History, World History, and Psychology). I have had World History and Psychology classes, but I have never had an actual Art History class. I hope to study or something next year.

FRIDAY
I bought some clothes from the internet on Friday, all either shirts for Joe or me. I bought a green shirt from lane bryant, a black shirt from tshirt hell, and a navy shirt for Joe from threadless. I also have two uniform school shirts on back-order from lane bryant.

On Friday, Joe applied to his local Wal-mart but never got called back for the job. He could still be called within two months for other Wal-mart jobs. He was applying for the late night shift.

My second cousin, whom I've never met, committed suicide on Tuesday, July 4. I was told on Friday. It is hard for my to have any sympathy at all, because I never met him or any of his close relatives.

SATURDAY
On Saturday, Lisa, Amanda, and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I liked it, but I liked the first one better. After the movie we went to Wendy's and then played at a park until it was a little after dark. I got sore very easily on account of my being out of shape. I also got stuck in a tube thing, which was just pathetic. Some creepy guy with long hair dressed in all black walked up to the park and asked us if we were too old to be playing around. It was really weird. Lisa was scared and wanted to go, but Amanda wanted to stay and talk to him. I wanted to go because I was sore, so I broke the tie and we left. I wouldn't have minded talking to him.

I accidentally stabbed my right big toe with an exacto knife type thing that was on the floor. I don't even remember which day it was. I think Saturday. It is basically healed now though, no worries.

SUNDAY
On Sunday night I went to spend the night at Lisa's house. I saw three movies at Lisa's house. I had already seen it, but we watched most of Shaun of the Dead. I realized it has a lot of curse words in it. After that we watched a movie I brought over, Playing By Heart. I like that movie a lot (for obvious reasons and for not-so-obvious reasons). We didn't sleep at all that night or the next day. The next morning, after her mom and brother left, we watched The 40 Year Old Virgin. Man, that's a crazy movie. I really like it. I could never imagine seeing it with an adult. Amanda saw it with her mom.

MONDAY
On Monday, when Lisa's sister got there (to pick us up), we went to Hurricane Harbor. In total, I rode three rides and swam all day. I rode the Black Hole first. I rode the Sea Wolf second. I found out the Raging Rapids really are crap. I flipped over on this dumb thing four times. For the majority of the day, we were on the Lazy River. Man I was so sore the next day (Tuesday)!

TUESDAY
Tuesday morning I saw a movie called A Map of the World. It was a very very good movie and I recommend it to everyone.

Tuesday evening, I went to dinner with my dad's dad Tom and my dad's sister Julie from London (grandfather and aunt). We had dinner at Franki's Lil Europe. I had the raspberry chicken with wild rice and vegetables. The meal was very good, but I was so nervous that I did not finish.

WEDNESDAY
This morning (Wednesday morning), my dad's dad came over to discuss my further education (college). There was a large exchange of money.

This afternoon I saw Madagascar based on a recommendation from Lisa. I loved it. First of all, Sacha Baron Cohen was in it, who is hilarious! I love him in Da Ali G Show. In Madagascar, I loved it when they made fun of Cast Away and American Beauty, which are both great adult movies. To parody these in a child's movie is hilarious. They also used the National Geographic theme, which was great. Two smaller parts I liked were the literal "stricken from the record" scene and the using of the line "darn you all to heck!"

RANDOM DAYS
I have learned that strychnine poisoning is interesting and kind of scary.

I may go to Mexico, but it is a big maybe. I am probably not going because I have not saved up. I would have to fly round trip. It costs roughly $400.

A trip to Rome from Dallas/Fort Worth costs $1205. Just random. I am never going to Rome, lol.

I am excited about this new murderer show on the discovery channel. It is called Most Evil.

I haven't posted in a little over a month, whoop-de-doo. I've had a lot of emotional troubles in this past month, and they're all coming from my church! How dramatic. You would think church would be the last place to cause me troubles. Quite the contrary, I do believe.

Tonight, for the American holiday "the Fourth of July" (original name, yes?), I went to see fireworks. The fireworks lasted for about 25 minutes straight, but the entire ordeal lasted four and a half hours. I have no idea why it lasted that long. I hate waiting. Oh well.

I just got the song Daughters by John Mayer...and ooooh do I love it so. :D

Joe has been playing Super Nintendo games for me to watch through this program called ZSNES. I like watching him (and other people) play games - I dunno why. He has been through Super Mario and most of Donkey Kong 1. Now he is on Dixie Kong's Double Trouble (aka DK3). I guess it is something to pass the time.

I need to read three books this summer, and write an essay on one of them. I haven't began anything yet, though. I will later.

Movie and College Choices

Friday, May 19: Noah, Jury, Lisa, Amanda, and I all went to the mall. Experiences were fun... I bought two books I needed to read this summer: Brave New World and 1984.

Also, Tuesday, May 23, a larger group of my friends and I had our own little picnic. After that we went to watch Hostel at one of the friend's house. I had already seen it, but it was fun to see a second time.

Wednesday, May 24, the last day of school, just about the same group of us watched Brokeback Mountain. I wanted to watch another movie, but nobody else had the energy to.

I have not been out since Wednesday, but Amanda might come over later. Hopefully we will watch either Capote or Eddie Izzard's Dress to Kill.

I am planning to show Amanda a bunch of movies I own: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Creepshow, Girl, Interrupted, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Boys Don't Cry, Capote, and Eddie Izzard's Dress to Kill.

This summer I plan to see (in theatres): Thank You for Smoking, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Superman Returns, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Clerks II.

At Noah's house this summer, I plan to see: Scarface, The Godfather, Raging Bull, Dog Day Afternoon, and The Good The Bad and the Ugly. Go Noah and his classic movies!

Amanda also has a movie I'd like to see at her house. It's called Blood In Blood Out. I have heard lots about it.

We have state tests April 18-21. If we don't pass them, we don't graduate.

I saw Fun with Dick and Jane... it was funny, but as a movie it was dumb.

I bought Capote, Good Night and Good Luck, and Brokeback Mountain. I haven't seen Good Night and Good Luck yet, but the other two are awesome. I also saw parts of Crash and Hustle and Flow at school. (Both are great)

I got a myspace... poo. It's mainly for keeping up with people at school, because it seems like almost everyone at my school has a myspace. This is it.

I got my friend Jaime in trouble the other day and I feel bad about it.

My cousins (actually my mom's cousins) from Kentucky are here visiting. I have barely seen them at all because I have been either on the go or doing my homework.

I recently did a rough draft to a research paper in English class, and it was - get this - nine pages long. That's the longest I've ever written for school. My final draft will be typed, so I don't think it will be that long.

My friends Amanda and Lisa are getting jobs, and I feel like the odd one out. I just do not want to work, though. It would take time out of my life and prevent me from having fun and (gasp) doing homework. I am just not a job person. My grandma says I shouldn't work right now because I don't need to. So I won't.

I have a list of colleges that I'd like to go to... I cannot decide on one because I am not too picky. I don't care where it is located, how many students go there, if it is public or private... All this is meaningless to me. My grandma will be moviing to Kentucky after I graduate high school, so I am basically free to attend college anywhere. If I were to go to a Texas college it would be cheaper because it is in-state, but I don't care much about that. Many people go to out-of-state colleges. Maybe this is pathetic, but I don't even know if I'm going to start out on a community college or not. I want to jump into a university, but a comm. college seems cheaper. Hmm... I want to apply to everyone, but I hate writing essays, especially ones that determine my future. Blah.

Birthday and Being Lazy

Well, my birthday was okay. Not the best in the world. It was the third anniversary of something I will not mention; it was also my dog Lucy's third birthday.

I came back home from Kentucky on my birthday. My first flight was delayed for two hours, so I sat in a dinky airport for the duration. When I got to Chicago, we had to go really fast to the gate, but luckily there was a 15 minute delay. Also I quickly got a Starbucks coffee, but it wasn't the kind I wanted. I got the hot kind of frap., but I wanted the frozen cold kind. It was the holiday coffee though - the peppermint one. ANYWAY, we got on the second plane and it was HUGE! Two seats on the left and two on the right, but FIVE in the middle! Everyone had a television, there was a big screen, lots of storage room, etc...and this was coach! (Second class.) I watched Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. We had the choice to watch whatever we want, if we wanted to... there was also music and television. So fun! We got to the Dallas airport, and we waited about 2-3 hours for our luggage, which obviously never came. Our neighbor picked us up and went home, but we tried to get something to eat...well everything is closed at 11 PM, lol. So, I made a TV dinner.

Kind of a disappointing day, but it was okay.

The day after (Thursday, December 29), I sat around and did nothing. Bliss. Then I was called to go to a sleepover...boring. I wasn't ready, I didn't want to go. Everyone would be slightly younger than me - mostly freshmen. Boring. I was so not in the mood. But I went! And it was a birthday sleepover for me. I felt kind of guilty for not wanting to go earlier. We sat around, I watched them dance around and stuff, then we watched The Dukes of Hazard (though I wanted to see March of the Penguins) (you should have heard them - "it's a documentary" ... slap in the face to Monica). I fell asleep during the movie (accidentally). We all woke up in the morning to the numerous cell phones going off. It was about 9 AM. I called a bunch of local people whose numbers were in my cellphone, asking for them to bring me breakfast. Mainly I called people my age, in a joking manner. I sounded so high (because I just woke up). I'm sure they all thought I was high or drunk, lol. That was pretty fun. One girl (Lacy) left and brought us back donuts (how nice :D). Some of us ate donuts... we sat around... one mom brought us tacos and Dr. Pepper... (how nice, again :D). I left and came home.

I thought I was going to the movies today: I wanted to see Memoirs of a Geisha or The Producers. My friend Lisa never responded, so I don't think I'm going. I might call someone else to go... I'll have to see.

Anyway..boring entry. That is all.

PS: Winter homework: (1) read the scarlet letter (very interesting so far but I am really lazy) ... (2) write a paper ["Discuss the psychological stigmatism of the scarlet letter."] ... Neither of these are finished. Number one has been started, though.. poo.

Early Gifts / Christmas Vacation

This all began when my grandfather (on my dad's side) called my cell phone and left a message. He asked if I wanted to go shopping on Saturday, November 17. He wanted to buy me something for Christmas (December 25) and my birthday (December 28). He chose to go to Northpark, a mall in the rich downtown section of Dallas (rather close to where he lives).

I did not want to go at all. I am not a shopping person, especially for things like clothes and shoes. However, the field was open on what to buy. I never responded to his question (out of nervousness and fear of turning his offer down). He called me again on Friday, December 16, and somehow I got out of saying no because he said this would be "a good cause."

I had been to the specific mall a few times before, but the visits were all years ago. The mall has been remodeled may times since then. So that night, I looked at the mall directory on the internet. I found a lot of cool (yet expensive) stores. I also looked on some of these stores' websites (Coach, Nine West, and Guess). After remembering my friend Maria's July post on her lovely purses, I set myself on getting a purse.

On Saturday, he picked me up at 11 AM. When we got to the mall, we looked around many of the fancy stores (Neiman Marcus, Coach, Nine West, Guess, et cetera). Ultimately, I set myself on getting a purse from Coach. I knew these purses were the most expensive of my choices, but I overcame any guilt of spending money and decided on Coach. I only needed a small-medium size (the size of about two cell-phones), but I ended up getting a slightly bigger purse than I needed.

I also got the Live Aid music video (July 13, 1985), as well as the Queen: Live at Wembley Stadium music video -- both from Best Buy.

Tuesday, my grandmother and I leave for Kentucky. We are going to visit relatives (two of her sisters, cousins, et cetera.) We will be flying on this trip, with layovers in the Chicago OHare International Airport both on departure to KY and arrival to TX.

It is supposed to be 33F in Dallas on the morning of our departure. Hopefully it will snow in Kentucky, at least a little!! I want to see some snow. We have maybe one or two days of "snow" (ice) in Dallas. It sucks. The ground is never cold enough, so the "snow" never sticks. We've had one snow day already, though.

So, we'll be gone December 20-December 28, and hopefully it snows some time in there. Or maybe there will be a lot of snow already. :D

I went on a government-sponsored extra-curricular school trip to Washington DC from November 26 to December 3rd.

Now hopefully I can get back into LJ and post about the trip.

My paid account should either be dead already or is dying soon. Poopy. I don't know whether I should renew it or not.

I bought a 5 megapixel digital camera on November 25 (Black Friday), woot.

This week in school is mid-term week, poo. I'm not studying right now, but I should be.

Steffie, we went to Arlington National Cemetery, but we didn't make it to Iwo Jima. I know it was small and pretty close to the ANC, but I'm just lazy. It was near the end of that day, and I was sooo tired. :\

On December 20-28, I am going to Kentucky to spend the winter with my family. Maybe I will get to see actual (big) snow! I hope so. My grandma and I are going via plane.

This last six weeks in English class, we have been working on assignments primarily based on a book written by Frederick Douglass. I have gotten an 85 in the class, which is much more pleasing than the 79 I got last time.

This upcoming six weeks, we will be working primarily on a book called the Metamorphosis (I think). Right now, we are working on Jefferson's Inaugural Address. It's just for variety. We have also already done a Ralph Waldo Emerson essay.. something about heroes and laws.

Juniors are being asked to join a Princeton Review class, which would help us take tests better: SAT, ACT, and any other college entrance exams (SAT Subject and the AP test). I may join.

A new Princeton Review counselor is helping us with college things. We can go to this website - http://ecos.princetonreview.com/ to research careers, majors, colleges, and financial aid. It is helping me a lot. These are a few things I have selected to put in my "locker" and show the counselor lady. She will send me information and help me with these things (I think). Speaking of Graphic Design, I quit riot_designs almost a month ago. Tasks were just piling up and I had no way to complete them. The era of riot_designs is now over. The community is basically a ghost community. Many of the makers are busy with school at this time.

I got a new cell phone. Same phone number, just a new phone. It is a Sony Ericsson Z500a. I also have this program where you can make your own ring tones. It's called Xingtone. I have seven homemade ring tones from this program. I have also bought two ring tones (before I got the program), and then I have one recorded ring tone..and many that were already on the phone.

I can legally drive now, but I am waiting for insurance papers with my name on them to be mailed in. My grandma doesn't care much about the incoming papers, as long as I carry with me the older papers. Thus I may drive somewhere (on my own -- somewhat legally) soon. I don't know where to drive first.

It is confirmed that I am going to Washington DC from November 26 - December 3. It's kind of exciting. I will be the only student from my school going. The teacher who is going from my school (who was also one of my freshman teachers) is going to take me to the airport ahead of time. Technically her son is going to take us. Our flight will leave sometime around 7 AM. We will arrive at whatever airport it is, and then head to the Chevy Chase hotel. It is in Maryland, but it is right outside Washington DC. We will have the rest of the day as a free day. The following week, we will be with groups and stuff...doing group things. One thing we will be doing is going to the Ford Theater (where Lincoln was assassinated) to watch a play or something. Also, there will be a dance (ugh).. The only thing is that the teacher will be going to places in teacher groups, and I will be with student groups.

My grandma and I are flying to Kentucky for Christmas break. It should approximately be from December 20 - December 28. December 28 will be my birthday...

In two days I will have been with Joe for 2 1/2 years.
