Oh, hi, flist.

So this summer has been completely filled with working 38 hours a week, planning my wedding (still so much to do... aghhhhh)

But in the free time I have had, I've been watching LOST while crafting. And omg, I'm kind of addicted. I'm nearly through Season 2 right now (I think the last episode I watched was the Hurley episode with the guy appearing to him)

Other random thoughts: For the longest time, I thought that Ethan was played by the same guy who was Barney's rebound bro, but IMDB tells me otherwise. This makes me very sad, especially since every time Ethan is on screen, I hear Randy's voice in my head saying things like "Vice President of Only Okay" and talking about his nosebleeds.

But the most important thing is LOCKE IS THE LOVECHILD OF WARDEN SNYDER AND LILY CHARLES. This actually makes a lot of sense for Locke, Y/Y?

So now that I'm a little more coherent with my HIMYM thoughts:

So, they blew apart my theory that a.) Robin has had feelings (and acknowledged them to herself) since Shelter Island and b.) that she's known about Barney's feelings since shortly after Benefits. HOWEVER:

I loved the way they handled the talk they had in the hospital. It felt like something I'd read in a BroTP fic, which is a good thing, especially considering the beautiful writers we have in this fandom.

Maybe I don't want to be saved the trouble. Maybe I want the trouble. I haven't wanted the trouble in a long time, but with you, the trouble doesn't seem so... troubling.

GWAHHHH! Yikes, I'm heading into incoherency again. Hee!

Anyways, that scene was just beautiful, even if I was still a bit confused about Robin by the end of it (but I think that was the point!) But just seeing Barney be so honest, and admitting that he wants some sort of relationship with her is just... phenomenal. Love!

And oh, that look when they leaped across the building!! So perfect.

I think that Season 5 is going to be what a lot of us have been wanting this whole season: Robin's side of the story. She's going to fall for Barney, but they're not going to be together yet (flirty, probably, but not together) and she's not going to want to tell him. So EVEN MORE TENSION and then they get together for real and the end of S5.

Bet in the season premiere she calls up Marshall to tell him that she has feelings for Barney. LOLOLOL.

And now people will STFU about Robin being the mother, because why the fuck would she be taking an architecture class at Columbia?? (Oh, who am I kidding, those batshit fans will find a way around it.)

middle of the night brainstorm:

Planning on going to a book signing this summer for an author of one of my favorite books (Poison Study, you might remember me gushing about it about a year ago). Would it be creepy or weird to crochet doll versions of the two main characters and give them to her as a present?

I feel like it could be either creepy or sweet, but I'm not sure which. I'm hoping sweet, I don't want to be that really weird fan.

If I do make them, (I probably will, either way, and potentially just keep them for myself), I can't decide on a body style. I'm going for either this or this

So, I have this game on my cell phone called Surviving High School. It's addicting, and SO campy. They play with names a lot, making awkward pop culture references.

From this week's episode (two teens just discovered their father used to be a famous actor)

Mom: He was a favorite amongst producers of niche television, especially Ross Eden.

Brian: You mean the creator of "Duffy the Werewolf Stabber," "Cherub," and that short-lived sci-fi western, "Lightning Bug"?

Mom: Your father had a knack for portraying sympathetic villains.

Tara: But I watched all those shows, I don't remember seeing Dad.

Mom: Your fater also enjoyed wearing masks and prosthetics. That's why most hiring directors didn't know who he was. Ross Eden liked your father so much that he hired him to be one of the leads in his new show, "The Mannequin Den," but the network abruptly fired him.

(This stems from the fact that I tease my fiance about our first kiss, because it was his first kiss and not mine and it was really obvious it was his first kiss. He now claims that he practiced his "off" kiss, to fool girls into thinking they were his first, and that he's really a huge player.)

random snippet of Pushing Daisies fic that's been banging around in my mind for a while. opinions welcome. :)

Oh, and warning for character death.

They had gotten used to it, the force field between them, keeping them together. Such a routine, with the signals, and contraptions, and the "Coming!" and "Going!". Sometimes, if they'd had a little too much to drink, they'd play chicken with their lips, leaving them breathless and flustered, but so alive.

But that's not when it happened. It was on a sticky July night, the air conditioner was broken, and she was washing dishes, while he dried them. She was wearing a bright red sleeveless blouse, and eh found himself entranced by the shape of her shoulders and lines of her body. Until she got just a bit to vigorous with her washing, and her elbow touched his, and she was on the floor.

He knew what had happened, the instant it registered. But still, his mind whirred with excuses. She had fainted, she had... fainted. Really, that was the only good option here. He grabbed a rubber glove from the counter and put it on, so he could check for a pulse. He checked her wrist, her throat, her heart, nothing. She wasn't breathing, the color was beginning to drain from her cheeks. He wrapped her body in his arms, rocking back and forth on the kitchen floor. He didn't cry, but he wasn't sure if it was from shock, or because he had been silently preparing himself for this moment since he last touched her.

In my mind, it's a bit of a set-up for some Olive/Ned fic, because I do love them so, and this is the only way I can see it happening.

I'm going to have to download this episode and watch it again, because there was just way too much to absorb the first time around.

The two things that worried me about this episode: The Ted/Robin hookup and the celeb!cameos didn't suck. The Ted/Robin thing actually gave me a few chuckles (the kiss goodbye!), and it was really just there to facilitate BrOTP. The celebrities didn't ruin it (I love the "hot chick my wife keeps telling me why you're famous and I keep foretting" line)

NPH WHY DO YOU INSIST ON BREAKING MY HEART 24/7 Oh, those looks he gives Robin. And he said it. Oh my God.

Also, Ted is officially not a douche anymore.

I kind of want Taco Bell now.
