Sunday futuristic
Tonight, meet your future self. What's different? What hasn't changed?
Because nothing is better than a really awkward meeting in public, you can include the RP tag for innocent-bystander 'fun'.
Poor, poor Mark. This takes place when he is still a young student at Saint John the Baptist University, meeting himself as a thirty year old man. Someone please help this boy out.
If anyone had chanced to walk into the busy canteen at Saint John the Baptist University that morning, they would have been treated to a rather interesting, if not slightly disturbing sight. After all, it wasn't everyday that anyone saw one of the university's younger student leaders on the point of tearing his hair out as he sat across from a much calmer, snappily dressed gentleman.
The man simply put down his cup of tea as he waited for the boy to regain his composure. "So what, you aren't going to thank me?"
Mark Lorenz looked up, his eyes wide with horror. "What the heck should I thank you for? You---you screwed everything up!"
"I'd hardly call being happily married, having five children, and striking out to start your own engineering firm screwing up," the man said.
"I want to work abroad---in Japan or something! I'm not supposed to be stuck in the Philippines forever!" Mark howled. "And I have zero plans of adopting children or ending up married to Isadora, of all people!"
The engineer smirked. "Famous last words. I can tell you even now that you can't get her off your mind. The only reason you make Isadora's life hell now is because you love to get a rise out of her. As for your adoptive children....well that's going to be love at first sight."
Mark crossed his arms. "It's not going to happen."
"Oh and did I tell you? I found out the truth about your....well, our parents."
"Shut up!"
"Why, don't you want to know?"
Mark groaned and buried his head in his hands, not caring who would see. Why did his future self have to give a damn about things?
