Munday (I know, I'm late)

1. Are you doing NaNo this November? Why, or why not?
Yes! This will by first year and I'm crazy, because I'm also employed full-time and have like NO TIME. But I just... it called to me this year. I'm so excited :D There are events running in my local town and I don't think 50k is going to be anywhere near enough to finish what I want to write, but it'll be a good start.

2. How do you feel about the challenge of writing a novel(la) of 50k words in a month?
If all 50k goes to the same thing, I don't even think my novel will be anywhere near finished (that said, I may be writing a trilogy/quadriology)... anyway, honestly, it depends on my inspiration. I've been known to bang out 6k a day - but that was when I was a student and had nothing else to do. I work 9-6 now and my weekends are generally reserved for my boyfriend or my friends. In order ot hit my 50k I am literally going to have to lock myself away and do NOTHING else. However, I am coincidentally on holiday at the beginning of Nano so I'm hoping that'll help me kickstart into a good word count.

3. If you have tried before, did you succeed? Fail? A bit of both?
Not tried before - and something tells me that my lack of direction this time around isn't going to help me. But we'll see, I suppose!

4. What advice do you have to a would-be-novelist (NaNo or otherwise)?
Oh god, I don't know, don't follow my advice; I haven't finished anything in about six years+. If you love it, don't forget it.

5. Are you a plotter that outlines everything ahead of time, or are you more into figuring it out as you go along?
I'm a bit of both; I didn't used to plot at all, but making up as you go along often means you have to re-write a lot of previous things you wrote to fit in with what you've "just" thought up. I tend to loosely plot sections or important parts of my stories now and make up the rest as I go along to tie it all together.

6. What will your novel be about this year? Who are the characters? What is the plot?
It's difficult to say at this point because I think I've bitten off something more than I can chew. I don't think a single book will be enough. However, there are three characters of varying ages and life experiences, who have to come together to overthrow a king. It's a fantasy so there are fae creatures and magic and things, but I'm heavily focusing on my characterisation as well as plot. There's political struggle and betrayal and assassins and things; I'm hoping it's going to be good. Or at least readable.

7. What NaNo support would you like to see charloft offer?
Erm, I don't know - there are already communities out there for Nano support, I think charloft should keep doing what it's doing in terms of inspiration. It's good :)
