Munday and NaNo!!

1. Are you doing NaNo this November? Why, or why not?
-Yep! I'm doing it to stay sane in an impending busy sem at med school.

2. How do you feel about the challenge of writing a novel(la) of 50k words in a month?
-I love it. It will give me a motivation to get something done.

3. If you have tried before, did you succeed? Fail? A bit of both?
-I've succeeded thrice and lost once.

4. What advice do you have to a would-be-novelist (NaNo or otherwise)?
-Take a little time to write each day.

5. Are you a plotter that outlines everything ahead of time, or are you more into figuring it out as you go along?
-Ideally I plan things out, and have a general idea where things are going. But when my characters take over I am reduced to figuring things out.

6. What will your novel be about this year? Who are the characters? What is the plot?
-My novel is basically a drama-lit fic (it was supposed to be an adventure) about doctors and slum dwellers working in a war-torn city. My characters are Claude Ramirez and Francesca Campos, two physicians, who get involved in helping a former hooligan, Rett Torralba, in his efforts to clean up his act. However so called 'respectable' folk such as the middleman Armand Chant and his minions Peter and Torie don't make this process easy.

7. What NaNo support would you like to see  offer?
-Some prompts for those who get stuck? And networking.

I'm having issues getting to the NaNo site, but my username there is Almira Torralba.
