- Sweet crispness of a caramel apple

- Crackling white lightning arcing across the sky
- Smooth orange flesh of a pumpkin (although I should mention that this is a new thing for me. I'd never seen a pumpkin carved for Halloween until I came here. I'd heard stories about the Irish carving turnips, but never pumpkins. Apparently they and the custom are an American thing the people of Secundus adopted from immigrants. I'm not complaining in the least -- it's fun to carve funny faces on them.)
