Desire to write
What do you do when you feel like you've lost the motivation to write? Not because you have writer's block necessarily - but just that fundamental desire to put pen to paper, or fingers to keys?
How do you rekindle your desire to write?
Frankly, I've been looking for a way to rekindle it for some time now. With all the stress I've been under at work and at home, I've had a huge case of mental writer's block and it's really bogged me down! I've tried to get back into the groove by working on various novel projects and other writing ideas I have, but nothing seems to help me shake this creative drought I've been in lately. That's one of the reasons I joined a variety of writing groups here on LJ as of late, because I need something to help me get my muse back.
Used to be that when I was stressed out, I found solace in writing. After my engagement went kaput and my mom passed away, I lost myself in my writing. However, this hasn't happened lately, as I've been unable to get over this slump, no matter how much reading that I do for research or how many ideas I write down to try and spark my creativity.
So basically I don't have an answer for this question at present because I am searching for that very answer at the moment. Hopefully I shall find it soon!
