A.N.: Another snippet from the "radio contest" trip I've mentioned before, where Lucy won a trip to Florida thanks to knowing a particular song clip. Also, worst line ever, am I right? Poor Ivan. . .
“So, what brings you to Florida?”
“Won a radio contest,” Lucy told the man beside her. “I’ve been here before – I travel around a lot just because I like to – but it’s nice to go on a trip that’s all expenses paid for a change.”
“I bet,” the guy, Ivan (and wasn’t that a weird name for a native Floridian), said, nodding. Then, grinning, he added, “Want to see if you can win something else?”
“. . .Was that a cheesy line or a genuine offer?”
“Um. . .what gets me the best chances at a date?”
“Anything that’s not a cheesy line.”
