Munday portents

Your character has just been informed they have 24 hours left to live, reason for death up to you.

How do they react to this? Do they try and fight their fate? Accept it calmly? Burst into tears? Quickly call all loved ones together for a party? Call up old enemies and try to patch things up one last time? What is your character like in the face of certain death? What plans, if any, do they make for their funeral?

Bonus points for writing their goodbye note (if there is one) IC and sharing it.

All six of them would have varied reactions to getting this sort of news.

Marce and Emil are always prepared for the possibility of impending or sudden death. Their line of work has them being on guard, constantly. So if either of them got this sort of portent---most likely it would have to do with murder or assassination. Marce would actively try to defy her fate by getting to the bottom of things. Emil might also investigate, but he'd just as well be more on the defensive side and take precautions (like packing his entire family up and temporarily fleeing the country) instead of heading into danger. But they do have their affairs more or less settled: letters written, documents prepared, and files arranged. They also have made arrangements as to who'd care for their kids and their younger siblings in the event of this. Both of them just want their funerals to be quick and as uncomplicated as possible: no wake, just cremation, a mass and then burial.

Ida and Mark would react differently. Ida would be shocked and angry, then try to see if she could prolong her life somewhat. Chances are this death would have to do with an accident or with the exacerbation of any of her medical conditions, so she'd be looking up all kinds of sources to save herself.  Chances are, she'd be caught dead in the confessional. Mark on the other hand would try to find out the source of this news: is it a real prediction, a hoax, a gag, or some demonic machination? He doesn't really believe in prophecies. He'd take maybe 12 hours solving this, then the other 12 actually settling his affairs---which would include writing notes to Ida and their kids, as well as to his parents, to his old friends Anton, Lize, Joshua, Tara, and more. He'd even send a note to forgive Jace. Then he'd go to confession and then find someplace to lie down and pass on. For this duo, funerals would be a little sentimental: a few days of a wake, then a cremation and a burial.

Darren would take a moment or two to verify this sort of news, then he'd whip out his bucket list and start ticking items off it as quickly as possible. Chances are he'd end up dropping while in the middle of doing something great, or maybe he'd pass on in the arms of a loved one. It would definitely fall to Emil and Marce to plan his funeral; he's sent a note to them with these sorts of things. He's the sort to have himself cremated and to have his ashes ensconced in someplace, scattered in the ocean, or mingled with the dust ala Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself."

Lize would be hysterical at first, then she'd try to make her last day something happy for her kids and her friends. Then she'd have to sit down with her daughters to explain that she's going away, so to speak. Then she'd drop them off at either Stephanie's or Marce's place before finding a good motel room to check out in. Her funeral would probably be at the chapel where she went to high school, and attended by her friends from those days. Her ex wouldn't even show up.
