Walker Evans couldn't have said it better. You'd be surprised how much one can learn from 'simply passing by' when people are conversing, or getting into other people's business. There are always issues to explore, facts to pick up, quirks to stock up on....or really it's just knowing what makes people tick.
This is one of my best acting tools; knowing how people act when I'm not in the picture and it has to be someone else. It's great to see how conversations go when a man named Darren de la Vega is not in the picture.
