Lucy stared at the money in her hand. She’d just gotten paid for acting. She’d just received a wad of cash for entertaining people for a couple of hours. Something she would have done for free. They’d actually paid her to do something she loved.
“What’s wrong, Lucy?” Abigail said, frowning at the look on her fellow actress’s face. “Not satisfied with your share?”
“No, no, it’s – it’s perfect,” Lucy said absently, folding her hand over the bills. “I just – I never got paid for this before.” A huge smile spread over her face. “I could do this for a living!”
