Thursday Discoveries In The Lab, Maybe?

A.N.: More future fic -- this is something I decided on for Victor's "bucket list" a while back. I figured it was worth bringing back for this prompt.
Prompt: Discovery
“Alice, have you ever made a list of things you wanted to do before you died?”
Alice looked up from her book. “Not on paper – I suppose I’ve got one of a sort in my head. Have you?”
Victor nodded. “I made the first one when I was sixteen. I’ve altered it a few times since then, but one of the constants was ‘Discover a new species of butterfly.’ I knew it was a long shot, but I couldn’t help but hope.” He turned to her with a smile. “Do you think making new species technically counts?”
Alice laughed. “Why not?”
