[Friday: Make Your List! - five foods you wouldn't eat for love or money.]
- just one thing, really (from a recipe of our former eight-year-old sister)
1) fettuccine Alfredo with sproogles - (serves 2) - 2 cups dry fettuccine noodles, boiled in 2 quarts water until al dente, strained, put back in pot and tossed with 2 tablespoons butter, garlic powder, salt; 1 cup heavy cream with pinch of rosemary, nutmeg and black pepper, warmed in microwave until barely steamy; 1 apology to arteries, with promise that you won't do this again; pour cream over noodles in the pot and briefly toss, then turn out onto 2 plates, with 1/4 cup sproogles sprinkled on the top (note: "sproogles," also known as "nose raisins" or "booger burgers," need to be harvested, sun-dried and aged on a bedroom windowsill for at least six months in advance of dining); enjoy.
