Twosday changes
Tonight, please list two times you exchanged your current social circle for a new one, and tell us why. (Moving, new job, witness protection, etc)
Emil is the expert at this:
The first time was definitely in college. I don't even know how it began, really. One week I was hanging out with Carlos, Farrah, Van, and Ralph, and the next week I was with Marce and her activist group, or with Darren and the drama guild. Carlos thought I was getting too political for my own good, and Farrah thought I was wasting my time. Then again, I couldn't necessarily agree with their ways anymore; too many people were getting hurt with what we were doing, and the fast life was tiring me. I wanted to make some things right for once, but the problem was that it cost me my friendship with Carlos and my relationship with Farrah. Admittedly the latter wasn't really a loss.
The second time was when I got my first job as a paralegal, then as an associate in a law firm. Not that I stopped hanging out with Ray, Sabine, Darren, Wena, and all the people I went to school with; I just spent more time with the bunch at the firm because of work. Don, Rodolfo, Mikaela and the rest of the group are pretty good, but I can't really confide in them the way I would with Marce and Darren.
