Thursday: My Share of Suffering
Tonight, 100 words on adversity.
A.N.: Lucy would like you all to know that she knows she is very fortunate to have such a good life, as Abigail says. She's just pointing out it wasn't always so good.
“Man, Lucy, do you know how lucky you really are?”
“Huh?”
Abigail held up a hand and started counting off on her fingers. “You’ve got two parents who love you and each other, you have a job you love and gives you lots of free time, you get to travel all over the country, and you always seem to have enough money to get by! You lead a charmed life, girl!”
The memory of people screaming, of a building collapsing in flames, of knowing it was all her fault, came back to her. Lucy smiled weakly and nodded. “Yeah. Charmed.”
