Munday Plotting Evil

Tell us some of the worst things you have done to a character to move a plot along. (Remember to put them under a cut if they are TOO bad) Alternatively, tell us about any time you showed mercy and spared a character from a horror that would have helped the story along.

Well, I think the worst thing I had to do to Victor here to keep the plot cooking in "Secundus" was get him kidnapped by the Queen of Hearts and have him go Creative while in her care. The whole of the story was pretty much building up to it -- Victor coming into his own as a mad scientist and saving his friends. He's the main character, after all -- if he doesn't go mad or get kidnapped, the story kind of grinds to a halt, doesn't it? There's also the horrible angst-fest that comes afterward, though I don't know if that's so much about moving the plot along as trying to portray a realistic reaction to all the horror he had to experience (and the little he inflicted). I don't know everything that's going to happen to him in "Secundus 2," but -- let me put it this way: you know the climax of BTTF III? With the train racing out of control toward the ravine? Yeah, we're getting an adaptation of that, and Victor's going to be on said train.

Lucy's a slice of life character, so I haven't really done anything horrible to her yet for plot. Her stint in the asylum is more for backstory purposes. I guess the worst thing I've done to her is the whole incident with Cameron, since that kicked off her tenure here and helped inspire a lot of what came next for her. After all, I think it's a large part of the reason I've yet to write her in a relationship.
