Admittedly not in this story but in one of the other's I have written I have done some pretty mean crap to my chars.
In 'The Long Way Home' a SGA fanfic I have been writing on Fanfic.net I have:
Had Cass captured in Afghanistan and held for 3 days in a series of caves. During this time, she saw several of her team mates tortured and killed and was first to kill an insurgent herself.
Had her captured by the Wraith and then rescued.
Had her sexually harassed by a member of the Genii.
Had her almost raped by the same member. He instead stabbed her and she shot him dead. She spent a few hours trapped in a Transporter attending to her own injury before she passed out. In turn she managed to survive an infection she received from the injury.
Had her become infected with the retrovirus through her husband by accident. This resulted in her inability to carry children.
Had her kidnapped by Michael the half Wraith and experimented on, eventually he harvested her eggs and put an embryo inside her which in turn she miscarried due to her inability to carry children.
Made a clone of her so that her husband and friends wouldn't know she was still missing.
Then after she had been rescued Michael came after her again, he killed her husband. (but brought him back under the negotiation that she would trade herself for him.)
Then 'killed' her team. (they're not really dead)
Also as a bi-product of Michael stealing her DNA she is about to discover she does have a daughter (this leads to a happy ending on all accounts)
All I can say is poor Cass!
