Lize and Marce could only nod in commiseration as Ida ambled to a sofa. "You should start getting Mark to help you out more. It's partly his fault you're in this situation again," Lize suggested.
Ida rolled her eyes and laughed as she sat down, taking care to smooth her shirt down over her growing middle. "He's afraid of my mood swings. That gets him to do what I want."
"Men in general do not know what to do with pregnant women," Marce remarked.
It was Ida's turn to nod.
