Monday -- reaching writing goals....
Author speaking here...not Alex this time....Alex can't write for beans ahahaha...oh btw if I haven't introduced myself yet...I'm Brandy
1. What is your short term writing goal?
DO NOT get side tracked this time and FINISH my current story I'm working on ...FOR ONCE IN MY DANG LIFE....>.< (I write a lot of poetry mostly, and I have ideas and tons of unfinished "short stories" around my house and on my computer and SOME completed short stories...but not near as many as I have started and in my head and constantly begging me to write....The road to hell is paved with good intentions....that's how I feel about my writing life right now I want to finish what I started this time.)
2. What is your long term writing goal?
Finish (and get published) my NOVEL -- which will be a completed compiled collection of "The Case File's of Alex Ander P.I." On their own each "case" will be a short story....but together...from start to finish...will be the life story of Alex Ander from when she got started to present...which will be 5 years worth of cases...and more if I take longer to write/finish them all...I have plot lines written down and in my head...but stories unfinished and not yet written out to their complete end. When I get done this will be one hell of a novel...(OMG my modesty is showing isn't it? hahah)
3. What do you do help yourself achieve your writing goals?
I try to pump myself up and get excited about the story line and the ideas tend to flow naturally for me after that....however getting me to discipline myself enough to sit down and write the dang ideas down is the hard part. I do try also...when I have time...to answer daily prompts in charloft to build on my characters and stories and a lot of what i write IN charloft goes INTO my stories that I'm working on. (with proper credits should it involve another character from here of course). Charloft prompts get me excited and motivated to write too....especially lately.
4. What usually prevents you from reaching a writing goal you have set?
LIFE....I get too busy or distracted or things happen and I just can't sit down and write....my muse goes away for a vacation without telling me or I'm just too dang tired to bother making myself sit down and do it.
5. Do you reward yourself for writing goals reached? How?
Like a few others have said...for me...reward enough is that I finished what I was writing...and often I reward myself with writing even more!
