Well yes, this can be true if one is willing to accept things at face value, or to tell little lies. Sometimes 'tweaking' the truth might help someone cover up an otherwise very serious matter.
I'm not like that though, not anymore. I've learned to demand all the facts; it's one thing I've learned after being lied to for a good part of my life.
