Twosday: Gone Baby Gone
Pick two people who are gone from your life for whatever reason. Things ended badly, or there was death and dying, or they're living in the wrong dimension... two people, who you want to see again. For whatever reason.
Then tell us who, and why.
Honestly, the first people that come to mind are my grandparents -- on both sides, really, but if I'm only allowed to pick two, I particularly miss my grandma on Mom's side and my grandpa on Dad's. Grammy always had fresh cookies for me whenever I saw her, and I remember her teaching me to count by playing "This Little Piggy" with me and giving all the piggies numbers. "Little Piggy One went to market, Little Piggy Two stayed home. . ." I must have been the only kindergartener who knew how to count to ten on her toes before on her fingers. Grandpa read a lot to me, and taught me a lot about the history of the Jews (he was rather more into the whole religion thing than Dad). I had great times with both of them. Sadly, they and their spouses had all passed away when I was halfway through middle school. I really do miss them -- and I'd like to know what they would have made of me. (Grammy always said it was impossible to get me to sit still for more than two minutes. . .)
