Thursday overstimulation

The doctor was not kidding when she said that Elise would probably need a little more time to approach the world. Not that anything was ever wrong with my daughter; it just so happened it was part of her temperament to be more retiring and less apt to explore things. 

I did get worried from time to time. My eldest, Phyllis, had always been a little explorer. Elise on the other hand liked to watch things, but if noises got too loud or lights got too bright, she cried. So can you really blame me sometimes for not understanding her?
