Cooking

Today, tell us about two memorable times you've prepared food. Maybe they're memorable because you set the stove on fire.... or because of who your dinner guest was. Maybe they're memorable because of what was served. Either way... get cookin'!

I'm a fairly great cook. When I was a kid though, I had some ideas that were pretty "out-there" as far as what I thought others would enjoy.

When I was eight I made pickle-peanut-butter-and-jelly french toast.  My family reacted pretty badly to it, but part of that is my fault for not warning them about what I put into breakfast that day.  This morning stands out as the first and only time I ever saw Aunt Grizelda run--and that was to  the sink to spit out my creation.   I was banished from the kitchen for a week.

More recently I've perfected marshmallow pancakes.  Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of buttery and sweet---well, the animals like them at least.  No one else seems really interested in trying them.    Oh--a side--I discovered Thneeds are edible, but, don't really lend themselves well to syrup.     You...probably don't want to know how I know.
