Tuesday cookery
Today, tell us about two memorable times you've prepared food. Maybe they're memorable because you set the stove on fire.... or because of who your dinner guest was. Maybe they're memorable because of what was served. Either way... get cookin'!
Lize's week this time around!
Well, you could have asked me about something I was actually good at, like dancing. But well, let me try.
There was one time during cooking class in high school. We'd been asked to bake a chiffon cake, but we hadn't been quite thorough with separating the egg yolks from the whites. So instead of a light fluffy cake, we got a slab of something that had been baked. Our teacher threw a fit over this.
Then the second time was actually quite recently. My daughter Elise got sick, and so I had to make some chicken soup to make her feel better. It was memorable since my elder daughter Phyllis insisted on helping me cook. It was kind of cute, really, though I had to keep telling her to let me handle the knives and chopping while she could stir and chuck the ingredients in the pot. Phyllis wanted me to put ribbon shaped macaroni in the soup since she said it would make Elise smile. She was right.
