Saturday Travel Has Done EVERYTHING For Me
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.

What has traveling done for you lately?
I really like this quote. I feel like more people ought to hear it. Maybe if more people went to other places and got to know the people. . .maybe we can't totally stamp out bigotry and racism, but I think we could reduce it quite a lot. People change their minds more easily than one might think. Look at me -- I grew up in a town that was deeply anti-Touched. I was told all my life Touched and Igors were monsters -- that they were destined for Hell. And all it took for me to change my mind was one meeting with a Touched and his Igor that treated me kindly. Couple that with being taken to Secundus, and -- well, I don't think I'll ever be able to think of all Touched as monsters again. I wishmy parents more people could do that. The world would be a much nicer place.
((OOC: Timing of this quote is very nice -- today's his birthday. :) ))
