Saturday traveling
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.

What has traveling done for you lately?
Mark's perspective on this
Traveling for me is a way to reconnect with other aspects of my life. I was never really the kind of guy who'd want to see the world; the furthest I've really been from home in Manila is California, and that on a certain...errand. But when I travel, I get to create different kinds of memories. I get to do things that I wouldn't normally jump into at home, such as see plays, tour historical sites, eat weird food, and once even get caught up in a paranormal conflagration. I get to show my kids (especially my eldest) stuff about the world.
I wish I was better at making friends though. I don't know how Ida, Marce, Emil, and Darren do it. Anywhere they go, they end up making friends. It takes some time for me to get out of my shell (but then again, according to Ida, I'm the only real introvert in our little gang).
