Et à la santé du progrès

"I know the border lines we drew between us keep the weapons down, keep the wounded safe. I know our antebellum innocence was never meant to see the light of our armistice. But how much would I give to have it back again? How much did we lose to live this way?"- Vienna Teng "Antebellum"

"Nous voulons faire la lumière
Malgré le masque de la nuit"

War is horrible. I still believe that in the future there will be no wars, that there will be peace. And yet...sometimes violence change is necessary, to prevent stagnation. I digress.

The lyrics.

He speaks only of what was lost, and nothing of what was gained. I suppose that is the difference between starting a revolution and being swept away to war. When you and your friends start a movement with the express purpose of changing the entire course of your nation's history, things do tend to fall squarely upon your own shoulders. You have set up the chessboard, as opposed to being a pawn on it.

Perhaps I am the wrong person to ask about this song.
