A.N.: Originally this was an actual argument between Victor and his parents, but the story wasn't going quite as well as I hoped. *shrug* I think this short monologue is a better piece anyway. Also: Secundus is officially finished!

It’s so frustrating that my parents absolutely refuse to believe I’m not lying. That I actually mean it when I say I like living here in Secundus. Don’t they know me well enough to know that I don’t like lying? I’m no saint, of course – I’ve lied about things before. Mostly white lies regarding someone’s appearance. But I tend to feel quite guilty whenever I lie, and it shows. Doesn’t the fact that I can look them in the eye and tell them, “I wrote those letters. I am truly happy here. I am not under mind control” mean anything to them?
