Munday Writing With Friends

This Munday we are going to talk about writing buddies.

1. Do you have writing buddies?

I used to have a couple of people that did some betaing work for me, but we've fallen out of touch recently. I also have a friend that occasionally writes gift fics and such based on my stuff, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing.

2. How did you meet each other? Do you interact in person or over the internet?
I did all my interaction with writing buddies over the internet. I did let my parents read some stuff once, but that was a while back. I feel kind of odd letting them see my fanfiction now. (It's steadily gotten more angsty.)

3. What kind of support do you give one another? Beta reading? Late night chats about plot? Writing parties or word wars?
Mostly beta reading -- helping to point out mistakes, plot holes, grammar errors, that sort of thing.

4. Do they write the kind of stories or the same genre as you?
One person I never saw much writing from. The other actually did sort of write the same sort of thing as I did back then -- Back To The Future fandom mixed with supernatural stuff. She focused on ghosts and psychics while I did vampire stuff for the most part. It was fun. :)

5. Have you ever colaborated on a story?
A long long time ago, a friend and I tried to write a story together, mixing two of our universes. It petered out after a couple of chapters, and never got completed. I haven't tried that since, I don't think. Honestly, I'm kind of a loner writer -- I'd feel weird doing a collaboration now, I think. (RP's a different story, of course, but my RP muses are always considered "one-offs" from their fanfic selves.)
