Twosday: This Was A Triumph -- This Wasn't

Tell us about a triumph, and about a failure

Triumph: I'm gonna pick my first real paid acting gig. It was a play I did in college -- nothing fancy, adaptation of Peter Pan. I didn't even have a big part -- I played Mrs. Darling at the beginning and the end. But I got the applause, and I got a cut of the ticket sales. I felt so proud of myself when I took my money to the bank. Finally, I had proof I really could do this for a living.

Failure: Rather than anything truly depressing, I'm gonna go with my first time asking a guy out. Would you believe that I got shy when I tried to ask someone for a date? It was my freshman year of high school, and there was this cute boy in my math class that I really wanted to at least hang out with. But when I finally went to ask him one day after class, I got tongue-tied and ended up just babbling out some nonsense about wanting to know what hair products he used. The guy just looked at me weird and said he didn't use any, then left. I was pretty humiliated by that. Never did end up asking him out.
