“You seem very young to be a lawyer.”
Despite the union leader’s jibe, Marce did not flinch. “I was a topnotcher in the bar exams. And I have been doing well as a paralegal here,” she said firmly.
The grizzled man raised an eyebrow. “But does that mean you can handle my case?”
Marce paused, taking in his words carefully. He did have a point; labor cases were usually not the fodder of young prosecutors.
Still, she nodded as she turned to face him. “I believe in what you’re doing. I believe in what I do. We stand a chance.”
