Thursday confidence

Give us a hundred words about confidence.

A/N: A twenty-five year old Marce here, a little younger than she is in some of the bits here. This is set during her first year as a prosecutor, some time after she and Emil get married.

“You seem very young to be a lawyer.”

Despite the union leader’s jibe, Marce did not flinch. “I was a topnotcher in the bar exams. And I have been doing well as a paralegal here,” she said firmly.

The grizzled man raised an eyebrow. “But does that mean you can handle my case?”

Marce paused, taking in his words carefully. He did have a point; labor cases were usually not the fodder of young prosecutors.

Still, she nodded as she turned to face him. “I believe in what you’re doing. I believe in what I do. We stand a chance.”
