Munday Messages
Do you have a message in your writing, something big and important you feel you need to say that spurs you to write? If so, what is it?
If not, does this bother you? Do you think writers need that to be 'real' writers? What is your definition of a 'real' writer?
Nope and nope. I'm fine with people who do want to put messages in their writing, but I don't think it's necessary for one to be a "real" writer. Not everything needs a moral -- good old Charlie Dodgson proved that when he wrote Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. To me, a "real" writer is someone who can inspire some sort of emotion in his or her audience -- laughter, tears, moral outrage, what have you. You don't need to throw in messages if you don't want to. It's enough to entertain.
