I felt Colin patting my back. “You’ll get your chance one day, my dramaman.”
I crumpled up the rejection letter that I’d set down beside me. It wasn’t Emil’s fault that he just got the best of everything. He was captain of the debate team, a blogger, popular on campus, handsome, in love with a great girl....the list went on.
“You’re the hero of your own story, okay?” Colin said.
“I know.”
“And just screw Emil---“
“No.” I shook my head. “He’s my friend, and I can’t just do that.”
