Munday: What plot you got?
Today, we invite you to look at one particular school of thought, which lays out 37 Classic Conflicts that are recurring themes in much literature.
Which of these sources of drama and tension can you see in your own character's story?

1) Deliverance - On several occasions. She goes through a period of self-loathing, because she has turned into the very thing she once has hunted - a vampire, but comes to accept it, in order to win her battles. She also delivers Aleera from her life long imprisonment and sets her free.
2) Crime Pursued By Vengeance - Circumstances force her to start fighting for the vampires, her father perceives this Face Turn Heel as a Crime/Treason against humanity and starts hunting her down. Also once Nikita finds out that Aleera is killing off the vampires that she is supposed to protect Nikita takes revenge. Those creatures have become her kind, friends and she has fought battles along with them.
3) Pursuit - pretty much her whole story - she comes to the US to hunt vampires, then becomes the hunted and it all explodes in her face.
4) Revolt - the reason why Nikita (and humanity) is dragged in this in the first place. Aleera revolts against old traditions and ends up on Earth where she devices a plan to free herself from the shackles of those traditions. Nikita happens to be in the middle of it, but her role is too important to escape. Also due to Aleera coming to Earth vampires were created.
5) Abduction - several times during her life. She was born with Aleera's blood in her that also happened to be the most powerful creature walking. Many vampires had kidnapped her in hopes to get to her blood. It`s also the tool Aleera uses to meet her (and blackmail Nikita's father)
6) The Enigma (temptation or a riddle) - Aleera, the woman Nikita falls in love with. When they first meet Allera is a human teacher, that turns out to be a vampire, that turns out to be an alien. Yeah... X.x
7) Obtaining - she unwittingly plays right into Aleera's plans and helps her obtain her freedom
8) Enmity of Kinsmen - her father comes to despise her after she joins the vampires. In reality she doesn`t have a choice, because that`s a certain death, but he believes that she is better off dead.
9) Discovery Of The Dishonor Of A Loved One - multiple times: she discovers that Aleera has abducted her, lied repeatedly, used and manipulated her.
10) An Enemy Loved - Aleera, who is a vampire and believed to be the very first one (she isn`t, she is in fact the last of the Firsts to turn into a vampire)
11)Remorse - Over and over and over again after she kills Aleera; also towards her what happened between her and her father, once she is back on the good guys side the first thing she does it to try and sort things out with him;
12) Loss Of Loved Ones - she kills the love of her life
13) Mistaken Identity - Aleera states that she has never lied who she is, Nikita has purposefully ignored all the clues.
