Friday - progress report

A back prompt from a couple of weeks ago.  -  it is not a list but it IS a progress report.

Dear Sergeant Delman,

I am writing you with a report of how your sister, the junior Sergeant Delman, fares in her  post.  I have written before, to tell you how impressed I am by your sister’s discipline, attention to detail, punctuality and obedience.  Her bunk and her uniform and her weapons are always clean and neat.  She does well on the practice field and, generally, in her duties.  Brier is a model guard in every respect.

I am writing, however, with concerns.  Brier recently was transferred, at her request, from her post guarding the crown princess to a post in the palace dungeon.   As you know, the palace dungeon is no longer in use in a general sense, but given the sensitive nature of her crimes, the traitor Zara Beck is being held there.

The new post seems to be disagreeing with young Brier a great deal.   I was concerned that her family should know she is not feeling well.

If you can come to see your sister and give any words of encouragement, I would suggest it.  I understand your regiment is stationed in the fort outside of town.  If you can get an afternoon of leave I will schedule Miss Delman likewise such that you two may meet.

With sincerest well wishes,

Stuart H. Little.,  Cptn .
