Tuesday time travel
You find a time machine, of sorts. It lets you observe either the past, or the future, but not both. Which do you choose, and why?
Bonus question: If it let you visit one or the other, which would you choose?
If observing was the only thing I could do with it, I'd like to see the future. That way I'd know how to prepare for it, and maybe even avert the bad things that are bound to happen.
If I could visit though, I'd definitely go back to my past. I would like to think I could change things on a national/historical scale, but that's out of my grasp. At the very least I'd try to be there more for my friends. I'd try to save Yvette (or at least tell her goodbye). I'd spend less time bickering with Emil. I'd try to save Suzie from going insane, and Darren from losing his career in West End. Maybe I'd even try to stop my parents from breaking up. So many things I'd love to do in the name of retconning.
