Munday - Reading Reading Reading
So, an indulgent and silly prompt: share with us your current list of what-you-are-reading. If you feel like attempting to be serious with this, tell us what sort of commonalities you can see (if any!) between the things you are reading, and the things you are writing.
Currently reading: The Fifth Elephant, by Terry Pratchett. I'm slowly but surely working my way through the Discworld series, and loving every minute of him. He writes such great characters! I also recently read "Expecting Someone Taller" by Tom Holt for my Fantasy Lit class, which is in the same vein of sarcastic humor. It was a fun little read. (I'm also on occasion looking through my The Art of Alice; Madness Returns book again, but that's less of a literary masterpiece and more something filled with pretty pictures.)
As for relating it to what I'm writing -- well, I'm writing mainly the steampunk "Secundus" while reading fantasy, so. . . Although Ankh-Morpork is getting more technologically advanced in this book. It looks like part of the plot is going to hinge on a sabotaged "clacks" tower (sort of a visual Morse-code-type thing). So that's something.
