Saturday Days
Day, n. A period of twenty-four hours, mostly misspent.
-Ambrose Bierce
Emil's POV:
You could expand this to 525600 minutes, or 31536000 seconds, mostly misspent. I calculated it, yes.
When you think about it, we do misspend time. What was that ratio again? 8 hours for rest, 8 hours for leisure, 8 hours for work. What some people do:
-16 hours for work, 8 for rest
-12 for rest, 8 for leisure, 4 for work
So on and so forth. I don't know if I personally could do that golden ratio of 8:8:8, but I do try to balance my time well enough. I try to get enough sleep. I don't spend more time at work than I really have to. I try to have time for my family---to talk to my wife, to play games with my kids, to catch up with my parents, and maybe even with some of my old friends.
But sometimes I do wonder if I need thirty-six hours a day to do all that I have to do.
