“I told you Mark, you had to quit it some time.”
The boy nodded miserably as he pulled his blue jacket around him. “I just didn’t think she’d walk out before worship tonight,” he murmured. “It was just a joke!”
“Which we told you not to do since you were getting too much,” Tato said reprovingly. “I can’t say her reaction was totally right, but really, you have to apologize.”
“If she’ll talk to me again,” Mark murmured.
“She will. She’ll give up on herself first before she ever gives up on you,” Tato said, clapping Mark on the back.
